Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system that allows a subscriber to screen telephone calls from opposite parties selected by the subscriber so as to be troubled by other phone call. SOLUTION: This invention provides, in a Public Switched Telephone Network(PSTN), the method at least including the steps of connecting a subscriber's telephone line to an Internet Service Provider ISP, while the subscriber's telephone line is connected to the ISP, disabling an Internet Call Waiting(ICW) server, and when a telephone call is placed to the subscriber's telephone line, ascertaining whether a calling party has input a subscriber- defined access code. The method also at least includes the steps of connecting the calling party to the ICW server and enabling it, if the calling party has input the access code, not connecting the calling party to the ICW server if the calling party has not input the access code, and via the enabled ICW server, displaying caller identification information to the subscriber when a call has been connected to the ICW server to allow the subscriber to cause the call to be connected, or ignore the call.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for providing a voice message which is exchanged from an electronic text message to a subscriber in a telecommunication system. SOLUTION: When an e-mail header matches the restriction stored in a file of a subscribing customer (304), the telecommunication system for reproducing an electronic mail (e-mail) message into voice routes the e-mail message toward the subscribing customer to the telephone number of the customer by using the service control point(SCP) of an intelligent network(IN) (316). When a call is answered, the text of the e-mail message is heard by the customer or converted to the voice message which can be stored in an automatic answering telephone or a voice mail box (324).

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a telephone system on an intelligent network base having compatibility with a call wait service by temporarily disabling the call wait function of a customer, performing routing a telephone call under the control of a service control point and automatically restoring the temporarily disabled call wait function when the customer is connected to a destination telephone number. SOLUTION: A calling processor 115 checks a call wait function temporary impossible index. A service exchange point 116 performs routing of a call to a destination number according to an instruction of a service control point 118. The point 116 checks a call wait function turn-off index. The processor 115 sets the call wait function turn-off index and restores a call wait service. That is, an intelligent network 110 and the processor 115 temporarily disables a call wait function when performing processing and routing of each call and restores the call wait service when each call is connected to the opposite destination party.

Abstract: Communication networks and methods are disclosed for sharing charging information between a home IMS network and a visited IMS network. If a signaling message for a session is received in the visited IMS network, the visited IMS network assigns a visited charging identifier (e.g., ICID), and shares the visited charging identifier with the home IMS network through signaling messages. Similarly, the home IMS network assigns a home charging identifier, and shares the home charging identifier with the visited IMS network through signaling messages. When CDRs are generated in the home IMS network and the visited IMS network, the networks include the home charging identifier and the visited charging identifier in the CDRs so that billing systems may more easily correlate the CDRs from the different IMS networks.

Abstract: An intelligent-networked telecommunication system for audio playing of Electronic Mail ( E-Mail ) messages uses the Service Control Point (SCP) of the Intelligent Network (IN) to route e-mail messages directed to subscribing customers to the customer's telephone number when the e-mail header matches the limitations stored in the subscribing customer's profile. The text of the e-mail message is converted to an audio message which can either be heard by the customer when a call is answered, or stored on an answering machine or in a voice mailbox. The present-inventive Notifying and Hearing Selective E-Mails (NHSE) system and method also includes features such as the subscribing customer being able to specify that audio e-mail messages will be truncated to a specified length, sending a special Caller ID message identifying the e-mail sender and subject of the message when the customer also has Caller ID service, and preceding the transmission of the audio e-mail message with a distinctive ringing pattern, to allow a subscribing customer the option of going off-hook to listen to the message, or allow the call to go directly to voice mail or an answering machine.

Abstract: This invention relates to a method and apparatus for anonymous call redirection in a wireless network. More particularly, the invention is directed to providing an anonymous call redirection service for wireless service subscribers by implementing service logic within the wireless network to intercept incoming calls for which no calling name o r number is available and redirect the calls to an intelligent peripheral device for further processing. In one embodiment, anonymous calls are directed to an intelligent peripheral su ch as a network-based recording device, which records the caller's name and then repeats or plays this name to the called party, before the call is connected to allow the called party to accept or reject the call.
