Abstract:
A current regulator circuit for providing a regulated, temperature compensated current to a load. The current regulator circuit includes a unity-gain amplifier stage having a feedback circuit connected thereto. The output of the unity-gain amplifier drives an emitter follower, which drives an output transistor. The collector of the output transistor is connected to the load. The feedback circuit includes a transistor having its emitter connected in series with a diode, which in turn is connected to the input of the unity-gain amplifier stage. The circuit provides a well regulated output current and reduced power dissipation.
Abstract:
The disclosed power amplifier is capable of selectively operating Class A and Class AB while being powered by a single power supply and does not develop undesirable crossover distortion while being powered by a dual power supply. The amplifier includes a first output transistor which is rendered conductive in response to driving signal portions of one polarity to supply current to an electrical load and a second output transistor which is rendered conductive by driving signal portions of the other polarity. A bias network is connected with the two output transistors of the amplifier. A driver circuit applies the driving signal to the bias network and to the first transistor. The bias network responds to the driving signal magnitude crossing a selected threshold to render the second transistor nonoperative and to bias the first transistor Class A. Consequently, the first transistor can then drive the output signal to either a greater or a lower level than otherwise would be possible. The amplifier circuit also includes a buffer stage, which prevents undesired distortion as the amplifier switches from Class AB to Class A operation, and short circuit protection.
Abstract:
A monolithic integrated automatic gain control system for a TV receiver includes a differential gating stage having one reference input, a gating pulse input and a synchronizing signal pulse input. This gating stage is responsive to simultaneous application of gating and sync pulses to provide an output signal proportional to the signal level of the video sync pulse. This output signal is supplied to a differential IF-AGC amplifier stage which supplies an amplified IF-AGC output signal to the IF amplifier of a TV receiver to control the gain thereof. A differential RF-AGC amplifier and delay stage is coupled to the IF-AGC amplifier stage output and provides a delayed RF-AGC signal which is supplied to the RF-amplifier of the TV receiver to provide a delayed RF gain control signal thereto.
