Un método, que comprende: almacenar información de patrón de movimiento en un dispositivo de comunicación inalámbrico (100), incluyendo el dispositivo de comunicación inalámbrico uno o más sensores de movimiento; recibir información desde el uno o más sensores de movimiento; comparar la información de sensor con la información de patrón de movimiento; y basándose en si la información de sensor se corresponde con la información de patrón de movimiento, identificar un usuario del dispositivo de comunicación inalámbrico (100) como un miembro de un grupo de usuarios y posibilitar la comunicación con otros usuarios en el grupo.

Se divulga un método que comprende determinar un eje de entrada que se extiende entre un aparato y un aparato separado, recibir información indicativa de un objeto de entrada, estando el objeto de entrada próximo al eje de entrada, determinar una posición del eje de entrada en el eje de entrada basada, al menos en parte, en el objeto de entrada y determinar una directiva operativa basada, al menos en parte, en la posición del eje de entrada.

An approach is provided for customizing map presentations. A map customizing platform determines a degree of interest of a site represented on an image of a map by tracking at least one of a frequency of visit to the site and a time period of visit at the site. The map customizing platform then changes an image size of the site relative to the image of the map based on the degree of interest.

An apparatus caused to: in respect of video imagery of an event at which one or more commenting users are present and have submitted comments, a location of the or each of the one or more commenting users visible in the video imagery; based on a current view of the video imagery provided for display to a user and at least one comment having location information associated therewith indicative of one or more of (i) the location, at the time of making the comment, of the commenting user who submitted the comment at the event, (ii)a location, at the event, specified by the commenting user who submitted the comment at the event; provide for display of the comment overlaid over the current view of the video imagery, the comment displayed in the current view of the video imagery at aposition that corresponds to the location information.

In accordance with an example embodiment of the present invention, a method is provided for controlling display operations is provided, comprising: detecting presence of an object in close proximity to an input surface, detecting at least one information item associated with the object, detecting distance information on the distance of the object to the input surface, and controlling selection of additional information associated with the at least one information item for display on the basis of the distance information.
