Abstract: An apparatus comprising a display screen which, based on a detected inclination of a hand gesture relative to the screen, splits the display screen into a first portion displaying at least part of the original screens content, and a second portion. The inclination of the hand may be with respect to a particular side of the screen, where the side of the inclination dictates which side the first portion is located on. The inclination of the hand gesture may enable scrolling through the non-obscured portion of the screen. The delineation of the first and second portions may be based on the location of the hand gesture relative to the screen, with portions sized according to the degree of hand inclination. The portions may be associated with different applications, and/or options may be given to the user to select content to be displayed in the second portion. The inclination may be detected based on the shadow cast and/or three-dimensional (3D) shape recognition.
