Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to systems and methods for configuring a voice domain preference and/or a radio access technology (RAT) preference for a user equipment (UE) in a radio access network (RAN) according to the capability and compatibility of the UE. The UE may send at least one of a requested voice domain preference or a requested RAT preference to a 5G core network (5GC). The UE may also receive, from the 5GC, at least one of a voice domain preference or a RAT preference based on, for example, the capability and compatibility of the UE. The 5GC may additionally generate a RAT/frequency selection priority (RFSP) index for the UE, giving priority to the voice domain preference and/or the RAT preference of the UE. The 5GC may communicate the RFSP index to the RAN. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a power headroom report (PHR) to a first base station on a first link of a split bearer and to a second base station on a second link of the split bearer. The UE may evaluate a characteristic associated with the first link or the second link after transmitting the first PHR, and adjust a transmit power value transmitted in the PHR associated with the first link or the second link, or both based on the evaluation. As a result, the UE may transmit an adjusted PHR to the first base station or the second base station, or both.

Abstract: A base station may transmit to a user equipment (UE) one or more indices corresponding to one or more carrier aggregation (CA) band combinations via a UE capability request. The transmitted UE capability requests may include an identifier that corresponds to the UE or the capability procedure between the UE and the base station. Then the UE may respond to the request by including the identifier and an indication of its capability corresponding to the transmitted indices in a UE capability response. Additionally the UE may include an aggregation indicator which signals to the network that the UE's capabilities are to be aggregated with additional indications of UE capability received in other UE capability responses that also include the identifier. Subsequent UE capability responses that include the identifier and an indication that the UE's capabilities may be aggregated will be combined with previously received UE capabilities.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may determine, when engaged in a multimedia communication, that the user equipment is receiving an uplink grant without sending a scheduling request. A semi-persistent scheduling mode may not be activated when the user equipment is receiving the uplink grant. In some aspects, the user equipment may forgo transmission of at least one scheduling request based at least in part on determining that the user equipment is receiving the uplink grant. In some aspects, an access point may determine to perform scheduling to provide an uplink grant to a user equipment engaging in a multimedia communication. In some aspects, the access point may configure semi-persistent scheduling and scheduling request masking for a logical channel to cause the user equipment to forgo transmission of a scheduling request. Abstract: Logical channel prioritization and mapping to different numerologies is disclosed for 5G networks having multiple network slices operable for communication via logical channels associated with different numerologies. For user equipments (UEs) configured to handle multiple numerologies, different rules for mapping logical channels associated with different numerologies may be defined for data and non-data channels. Thus, when new data arrives at a UE for communication via a logical channel associated with a different numerology, the UE checks whether the mapping rules would allow multiplexing of the new numerology data onto an existing data channel. If no data channel has already been allocated or if an allocated data channel may not include data from the new numerology, then a mapping is followed for specifically requesting resources for communication of the new numerology data. The new mapping may trigger scheduling request or random access procedures specifically associated with the new numerology.
