Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless communications system may establish radio bearers for certain data transmissions between a user equipment (UE) and a base station. A radio bearer may be associated with one or more quality of services (QoS) parameters, such as a bit rate. The base station may indicate to the UE a time window over which to average the bit rate. In some examples, a radio bearer may include multiple data flows. The base station may provide information regarding QoS parameters for each data flow in control signaling, such as a grant.

Abstract: Techniques are described herein to dynamically control a number of hybrid automatic repeat requests (HARQ) transmissions based at least in part on flow characteristics of a data flow. Data included in a transport block may be grouped into one or more data flows based on a variety of factors. A set of performance benchmarks may be associated with each data flow. Flow characteristics for each data flow may be measured. A network entity may determine a number of HARQ transmissions to be transmitted during a HARQ procedure based on measured flow characteristics satisfying the performance benchmarks. For example, if a performance benchmark is not satisfied by its associated flow characteristic, the network entity may request additional HARQ transmissions during the HARQ procedure.

Another method includes receiving, at a protocol layer entity above an RLC layer of a transmitting device, a PDU, labeling the PDU with a unique PDCP instance identifier packet, and passing the PDU to a protocol layer entity below the PDCP layer of the transmitting device.

Certain aspects provide a method for forming and transmitting transport blocks. The method includes generating a transport block including a plurality of service data units and a corresponding plurality of media access control sub-headers. Each media access control sub-header is defined adjacent to the corresponding service data unit in the transport block. The transport block further includes a media access control (MAC) control element having a separate corresponding media access control sub-header. The MAC control element and corresponding media access control sub-header are defined at one of a beginning and an end of the transport block. Abstract: Enhanced techniques may be used for identifying and reporting collision- based scenarios. In one example, a wireless modem measures a number of signals received from a number of devices that are located on the same chip as the wireless modem when a physical link between the wireless modem and an accelerometer is broken, the accelerometer is inoperable, or a combination thereof. In the event of a collision event, the wireless modem may use the measured signals to determine that the collision event has occurred and may transmit an indication of the collision event. For instance, the wireless modem may use signals from an audio sensor, a motion sensor, a global navigation satellite system (GNSS), or the like.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a power headroom report (PHR) to a first base station on a first link of a split bearer and to a second base station on a second link of the split bearer. The UE may evaluate a characteristic associated with the first link or the second link after transmitting the first PHR, and adjust a transmit power value transmitted in the PHR associated with the first link or the second link, or both based on the evaluation. As a result, the UE may transmit an adjusted PHR to the first base station or the second base station, or both.
