    Abstract: DEC 11 1984 Process for the preparation of copolymers consisting of 25-85 % by wt. of ethylene 15-75 % by wt. of at least one other l-alkene and optionally up to 20 % by wt. of a polyunsaturated compound with application of a catalyst system containing a compound of a metal from sub-groups IV-VI of the periodic system and a compound of n metal from groups I-III of the periodic system, in which at least one hydrocarbon group is bound directly to the metal atom via a carbon atom, the polymerization being carried out in the presence of a halogencontaining compound of one of the following groups: a. compounds of the general formula where A is a phenyl or benzoyl group with one or two substituent nitro groups, X is a chlorine or bromine atom, Y is a chlorine, bromine or hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group with 1-8 carbon atoms, and Z is a nitrile group, a carboxyl group, an ester group, a hydrocarbyloxyalkylcarboxyl group, a carboxylhalide group, an amide group, a benzoyl group, a carboxyphenyl group, a carboxyhydrocarbylphenyl group, a phenyl group or a phenyldihalogenmethyl group, b. compounds of the general formula where B is a phenyl group which may contain one or two substituent halogen atoms or alkyl groups, or is a thienyl, furyl, pyrrollyl, N alkyl pyrollyl or pyridyl group, which group is bound to the carbon atom directly or via a carbonyl group, X is a chlorine or bromine atom, Y is a chlorine, bromine or hydrogen atom or a hydrocaarbon group with 1-8 carbon atoms, and Q is a phenyl group or a phenyldihalogen methyl group. c. oxalyl chloride or oxalybromide.

    Abstract: 22772-1007 The invention relates to a process for preparing vinyl chloride polymers by suspension polymerization in a polymerization reactor of vinyl chloride, optionally in combination with at most 30 % (wt) of one or more monomers copolymerizable therewith, with monomer - soluble, radical - forming initiators and possibly in the presence of primary suspending agents. The improvement comprises the addition of an aqueous dispersion of at least one polyvinyl ester with a degree of solvolysis in respect of the dry substance lower than 25 moles % to the polymerizetion reactor before or during said polymerization, which polyvinyl ester is chosen from the polymeric vinyl esters of aliphatic and/or aromatic carboxylic acids, the amount of the aqueous dispersion supplied being such that after this addition the reaction mixture contains 0.01-0.5 part by weight of the polyvinyl ester per 100 parts by weight of the starting monomer.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a process for preparing vinyl chloride polymers by suspension polymerization in a polymerization reactor of vinyl chloride, optionally in combination with at most 30 % (wt) of one or more monomers copolymerizable therewith, with monomer-soluble, radicalforming initiators and optionally in the presence of primary suspending agents. The improvement comprises the addition of 0.01-0.5 part by weight of at least one polyvinyl ester with an average degree of solvolysis lower than 70 moles % per 100 parts by weight of the starting monomer to the polymerization reactor before or during this polymerization, which polyvinyl ester is chosen from the polymeric vinyl esters of aliphatic and/or aromatic carboxylic acids with 3-20 C-atoms per molecule. The process enables production of polymers with lower fish-eye numbers.
