Abstract:
Novel hyperbranched segmented copolymers include at least one oligomer. Spacing of branch points in a hyperbranched hyperbranched polymer (A2Bn)x are manipulated by having either A2 or Bn or both A2 and Bn be in the form of an oligomer (as opposed to a monomer).
Abstract:
The present invention relates to copolymer compositions for making pressure sensitive adhesives. The copolymer contains a comonomer having the structure of Formula I, wherein R1 is an alkylene having 1 to 3 carbons; and R2 is hydrogen or an alkyl having 1 to 3 carbons.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to ion-containing copolymers. In particular, the copolymers contain 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane (DABCO) double ammonium salt in a supramolecular network. The copolymers are useful for making, e.g., elastomeric materials, ionic adhesives, fuel cell membranes, ion-exchange membranes, gene delivery, ionic anti-microbial, anti-fouling materials, etc.
Abstract:
The present invention provides compositions comprising polymers and biologically active compounds, especially polymeric drug delivery systems. More specifically, the present invention provides ammonium and/or phosphonium-containing polymers and/or block copolymers as a viable and improved option for gene delivery. In an embodiment, the present invention provides a method of using a composition comprising a block copolymer that comprises: a stabilization block and a complexation block, and optionally an endosomolytic block for nonviral gene delivery. Preferred compositions include such co-polymers, wherein the complexation block is chosen from polymers of styrenic-based phosphonium-containing monomers chosen from: (F) wherein X is phosphorus; R is Cl-24 alkyl; and n is a number ranging from 2 to 1,000.
