The present disclosure provides an emergency door release operable to release or command-to-close a rolling emergency door from its uppermost, or open, position to its lowermost, or closed, position, in response to an emergency condition even when there is a loss of mains input power, while also avoiding releasing the door solely upon a loss of mains power. The emergency door release comprises an emergency detector for detecting an emergency condition, a microcontroller for closing/releasing the rolling door in response to the emergency condition, a backup power means for providing backup power to the microcontroller during a loss of mains power, and a door retention system for retaining the rolling door when powered, and releasing the door when power is removed from the door retention system.

An actuating arrangement and method for opening and closing a hinged motor vehicle panel utilizes a controllable fluid drive and an uncontrolled fluid drive. The hinged motor vehicle panel is driven during opening from a starting position to a predetermined opening angle by the controlled fluid drive and, after reaching the predetermined angle of opening, is driven into its final position exclusively by the uncontrolled fluid drive.

The invention is directed to a sectional door having a shutter made up of a plurality of transversely running door sections which are connected to one another in an articulated manner and can be moved upwards, along guide tracks, by means of guide rollers, wherein the guide tracks each have at least one vertical portion and at least one horizontal portion and a transition portion, which is arranged therebetween and in the region of which is arranged at least in each case one reversible rocker, so that, in a first position of the relevant rocker, certain guide rollers, for the operation of opening the door, can run along a first, arcuate guide-track portion from the vertical guide-track portion to the horizontal guide-track portion and, for the operation of closing the door, can run along the same in the opposite direction, or that, in another position of the rocker, certain guide rollers are deflected to a second guide-track portion, which runs, at least in part, purely vertically and makes it possible for a guide roller rolling therein to move purely vertically, wherein a device for driving and/or for assisting the opening and/or closing movement of the shutter acts on a region of the lowermost door section which executes a purely vertical movement when the shutter is being opened and closed.
