Abstract:
An integrated magnetic catch used to hold a horizontal hinged oven door open at a selected set partially open position. A pin is used to hold the two plates together and acts as a pivot point. Attached to a stationary plate is a bracket that houses a magnet. This bracket is formed having a preset angle that correlates with the degree that the door is to be opened. When the rotating hinge makes contact with the bracket, the magnetic force holds the door open at a selected angle.
Abstract:
A portable door guard for sliding over a hinge of a door, the portable door guard comprising a body comprising a hollow cylindrical section including an opening gap along the length of the hollow cylindrical section on a stationary section of a back face of the body, the hollow cylindrical section comprising a “C” shaped profile capable of fitting over a hinge, wherein the hinge comprises a barrel, a first wing, and a second wing, the first wing being mounted on a door frame, and the second wing being mounted onto the door, and the barrel holding the first wing and the second wing together while acting as a pivot. The portable door guard further comprising a body section configured to impede the door from opening more than a given amount, the body section capable of being extended and shortened.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an improved hold-open device (50) for holding a roll-up door (55, 56) in an overhead out-of-the-way position in a body, the door being mounted for movement within a track (51) having a vertical portion (52), an arcuate portion (53) and a horizontal portion (54). The improved device broadly includes: a plate (62) mounted on one of the track and cargo body; an arm (63) pivotally mounted on the plate; a striker (64) mounted on the door, the striker having an inclined surface (79) and an abutment surface (80); a stop (70) mounted on the arm, the stop having an edge (87) adapted to selectively engage the striker surfaces; and at least one spring (25) urging the arm to move such that the edge will engage one of the striker surfaces.
Abstract:
A damping system comprises a door panel operably connected to a rail for movement along the rail. An apparatus is mounted to the rail for damping movement of the door along the rail at an end position. The damping apparatus comprises a base defining a chamber having a closed end and an open end, the base configured for securing the damping apparatus to the rail. A piston is slidably mounted in the chamber and extends from the open end of the base in a first position. The piston includes a cylinder, a piston head moveable within said cylinder, a piston rod connected to the piston head, and a compression spring disposed on the piston rod between the cylinder and closed end of the chamber. The damping apparatus is secured to the rail for engaging and slowing movement of the door panel in a direction along the rail at the position as the piston is moved in the direction from the first position to a second position.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a power-operated system for a closure member of a vehicle comprising an actuator, control means and a sensor for detecting a force and/or a torque applied to the closure member. The system has a first mode in which the control means controls the actuator to resist movement of the closure member. If the force and/or torque applied to the closure member exceeds a first threshold value when the system is in the first mode the system is exits the first mode and assumes a second mode in which the control means controls the actuator to apply a force and/or torque to the closure member. The system may improve user convenience by assisting with opening and closing of the closure member.
Abstract:
An automatic door operator (30) in adapted for use in an entrance system (1) that comprises a swing door member (10) being operable between a closed position (18) which prevents passage, and an open position (19) which admits passage. The automatic door operator (30) has an electric motor (34), an activation sensor (15) configured for manual actuation by a person wishing to pass through the entrance system, and a controller (31) having a normal operating mode and an emergency mode. In the normal operating mode, the controller is responsive to the activation sensor (15) and configured for, when the activation sensor (15) is actuated, controlling the motor (34) to generate torque for causing the door member (10) in the entrance system (1) to move from the closed position (18) to the open position (19), and to stay in the open position (19) during a configured hold open period (43).
Abstract:
A drive unit for driving an open-and-close body and a method for attaching the drive unit to the open-and-close body. The drive unit includes a cable, a drum, a pulley, a fix member, an elastic member, and a limiting member. The cable has a portion connected to the open-and-close body and another portion wound on the drum. The pulley is movable between a first position, where the pulley does not tension the cable, and a second position, where the pulley engages the cable and applies tension to the cable. The fix member is capable of fixing the pulley in the first position. The elastic member urges the pulley towards the second position. The limiting member is provided between the drum and the fix member, and the limiting member allows or limits rotation of the drum in accordance with the position of the pulley.
