Abstract: A contact base 40 is pushed by the printing head 18K, when the printing head 18K is mounted onto the carriage 16. Thereby, the connection face 32 of the flexible carriage wiring 30 together with the contact base 40 follows the connection face 62 of the of the flexible head wiring by swinging movement around the touching point in the directions of arrows X, X', Y, Y', Z, and Z'. Therefore, the connection face 32 slants to follow any slanting of the connection face 62. Consequently, the two connection faces 32, 62 come close together over the entire faces to give precise electric connection of the electric connection points between the two connection faces.

Abstract: This invention not only separates printing and barcode checking as independent processes but also simplifies printer processing to allow to print a large number of barcodes at high speed and to satisfactorily check barcodes. For this purpose, when a print control circuit unit (501) receives print information including a barcode, information associated with barcode checking is transmitted to a barcode checker unit (601) prior to printing. Upon actually printing an image including a barcode, when the printed barcode is conveyed to the position of a reader (603) in the barcode checker unit (601), an RD_TRG signal is output to check the printed barcode. Upon reception of this signal, the barcode checker unit (601) reads the printed barcode a plurality of number of times at different positions, and when the normal reading ratio is low, it outputs an error signal to the print control circuit unit (501).

Abstract: An image forming device capable of detecting the presence/ absence of ink as well as whether an ink tank is mounted. A detachable ink tank 32 on a carriage 31 includes a prism 32C, and a reflective optical sensor 33 detects the presence/absence of ink depending on the difference in refractive index between the two states, that is, filled with ink and empty. A reflector lever 35, movable in response to the ink tank 32 being mounted or not, is provided on the bottom of an ink tank holder 34. The reflector lever 35 has one end fixed on a lower part of the ink tank and the other end that is a free end consisting of a triangular reflector 35D. The reflector lever 35 is normally urged upward by a resilient member 35A, and it will not direct the reflection toward the sensor 33 in the absence of the ink tank whereas it is deformed in the presence/absence of the ink tank to direct the reflection toward the sensor 33. As a result, the presence/absence of the ink tank is detected.

Abstract: A recording system for relatively easily and rapidly performing a registration adjustment in a recording device having a plurality of recording units which record divided recording images on the same recording medium. The recording system causes each of recording units (108A- 108F) to record a registration adjustment pattern. Based on the recorded pattern, an inter-unit adjustment that is a registration adjustment among the plurality of recording units and an intra-unit adjustment that is a registration adjustment among the plurality of recording heads in each recording unit are performed. In the inter-unit adjustment, the same adjustment value is simultaneously added to all other recording units on a side of a compared recording unit when a recording position of the compared recording unit is corrected, the compared recording unit being compared with a reference recording unit, the reference recording unit being one of the neighboring two recording units. As a result of the inter-unit adjustment, an average value is calculated from a maximum value and a minimum value of adjustment values of all recording units to correct and reset the adjustment values of all recording units by the average value.
