A spraying device having a sprayer head (1) and an interchangeable, disposable, recyclable and/or biodegradable, and attachable cartridge (3), capable of diluting and dispensing a chemical. The device has a rotatable barrel valve (5) to select whether to fill the cartridge, spray the diluted chemical, or prevent any flow. The device further has a pair of coupling tubes (13, 19) which permit the easy connection of the sprayer head (1) to the cartridge (3) in a way to cause, by aspiration, the partially diluted chemical to enter the sprayer head (1) for further mixing and discharge. A rupturable or replaceable membrane (23) is placed across the top of the cartridge (3) to contain the concentrated chemical prior to use. A plug closure (41) permits the addition of a chemical to the cartridge (3).

The bioactive agent is mixed with an uptake and transport-enhancing adjuvant comprising an anionic surfactant and a mixture of water-immiscible, low-vapor pressure, vegetable-derived oils.

Disclosed is a process for preparing substantially non-crosslinked ethylene methylacrylate copolymers grafted with a grafting agent such as maleic anhydride. In particular, in the process of the present invention, it has been found that the use of very small amounts, i.e., less than about 0.2 weight percent, of a free-radical initiator in combination with the grafting agent and the ethylene methylacrylate copolymer, but in the absence of solvent, results in a grafted product having little or no crosslinked component. The grafted copolymers have utility in food packaging.

This invention provides a layered catalyst system for hydro-denitrification of hydrocarbons, such as vacuum gas oil, used for hydrocracking to produce various fuels. The layered catalyst system of this invention comprises a first layer of a nickel-molybdenum-phosphorus/alumina catalyst or a cobalt-molybdenum-phosphorus/alumina catalyst and a second layer catalyst comprising a nickel-tungsten/silica-alumina-zeolite or a nickel-molybdenum/silica-alumina-zeolite catalyst. The preferred aspects of the combination of the layered catalysts disclosed herein are: a) the first layer alumina catalyst has a molybdenum content greater than about 14 % by wt.; b) the first layer alumina catalyst has a relatively large pore size, such as at least about 60 Å; and c) the second layer catalyst contains at least about 2 % of a zeolite component. The layered catalyst system of this invention and the attendant process produces improved denitrification of feedstocks, improved catalyst life and other advantages.

Specific toxicants are selectively removed from aqueous waste streams associated with the production of petroleum and petroleum products by contacting such aqueous waste streams with a non-ionic macroreticular polymeric resin having a low to intermediate surface polarity. The toxicants are a group of structurally-related organic molecules containing at least one carboxylic acid group and having a molecular weight in the range of about 200 to about 400. These molecules are toxic to certain indicator species of fish at concentrations of less than 10 parts per billion.

Heavy waxy oil is dewaxed by a mild cracking and isomerization process using a catalyst comprising SSZ-32 and at least one Group VIII metal. The heavy oil contains naphthenic wax, which includes only a relatively small amount of normal alkanes. Naphthenic wax containing a minor amount of oil may also be dewaxed using the process.
