PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control activation of at least one terminal in a machine-type communication using a wireless access network.SOLUTION: The wireless access network comprises a number of location areas, each of which comprises a plurality of cells. The terminal has been assigned an identifier. First, a location identifier is received from a location provider. The location identifier indicates a subset of cells of at least one of the location areas. Activation of the at least one terminal is then controlled by transmitting at least one broadcast message on at least one cell broadcast channel in the cells of the subset indicated by the location identifier. The broadcast message contains the identifier or identifier part assigned to the terminal.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system for triggering at least one terminal to establish a communication path between the terminal and a server.SOLUTION: The method includes transmitting a trigger message to the terminal which includes timing information indicating when the communication path between the terminal and the server is to be established. The timing information may include one or more of a time delay, a time window, and an instruction to randomly select time for establishing the communication path between the terminal and the server.

The invention relates to a method of applying soft-kill deployment to mislead an incoming missile (12) directed to a mother platform (10). The method comprises the step of predicting a number of miss distances (M) associated with corresponding particular decoy launch parameter sets. Further, the method comprises the step of selecting a decoy parameter set having an optimal predicted miss distance (M). The method also comprises the step of transmitting the selected decoy parameter set to a launch unit (1) for launching the decoy (14). Here, the predicting step includes the use of an adjoint algorithm.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method for selecting a network business owner. SOLUTION: A network identifier list includes one or more network identifiers. The method stores an electronic data structure having the network identifier list whose each identifier uniquely identifies a network to provide one or more of services to a mobile device and a service identifier list which stores a plurality of service identifiers and whose each service identifier identifies one or more network business owner identifiers and one service of a plurality of services related to one or more network identifiers arbitrarily, and selects either a first network business owner identifier or a second network business owner identifier by selecting the service identifier from the service identifier list of the electronic data structure.
