Abstract:
PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for informing whether a signal received in a UE(User Equipment) exists in a CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) mobile communication system are provided to inform by using a dedicated control channel whether a signal of a common control channel including information necessary for receiving an HS-DSCH(High Speed-Downlink Shared Channel) exists or not. CONSTITUTION: A CPICH(Common Pilot Channel) estimator(3001) performs a channel estimation per every slot or every frame. A separator(3002) receives a pilot and an indicator from a cell 1 which transmits an HS-DSCH, and separates the pilot and the indicator. A signal decider(3003) receives an HS-DSCH indicator, analyzes the HS-DSCH indicator, multiplies a sign of the HS-DSCH indicator by 1 to invert the sign of the HS-DSCH indicator when the sign of the HS-DSCH indicator is different from a sign of the pilot, and transmits the HS-DSCH indicator to a switch(3004). In case that the sign of the HS-DSCH indicator is identical to the sign of the pilot, the signal decider(3003) immediately transmits the HS-DSCH indicator to the switch(3004). The switch(3004) transmits or does not transmits the HS-DSCH indicator modified by the signal decider(3003) on the basis of the CHICH estimation value received from the CPICH estimator(3001). An SIRest generator(3005) generates an SIRest using pilot bits received from the cell 1 and a cell 2 which does not transmit the HS-DSCH.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A channel communication apparatus and method of a CDMA communication system are provided to reduce paging indicators transmitted for every frame and increase a capacity by transmitting the paging indicators transmitted through a PICH(Paging Indicator CHannel) according to a predetermined discontinuous transfer cycle and monitoring whether the paging indicators have been received according to the discontinuous transfer cycle by a mobile station. CONSTITUTION: A discontinuous received cycle is determined at an upper layer and goes down as a parameter value. If there is a paging in case that the number of paging indicators for 1 frame is 144, the bit of a PICH is determines by 11 bits. This bit is actually transmitted as I and Q, so that one complex symbol is transmitted for one paging indicator. When a specific mobile station using 0th paging indicator is paged, 0th symbol is set by 1 in a PICH frame. When the paging indicator is set in the PICH frame, a paging message is to be transmitted through S-CCPCH after τPICH after the paging indicator is transmitted. Since the paging message is transmitted for every discontinuous received cycle, the paging indicator is transmitted according to the discontinuous received cycle without being transmitted for every frame. The 0th paging indicator is not transmitted to the PICH for a specific terminal during the discontinuous received cycle section.
