Abstract:
PURPOSE: An adaptive media transmission control method about the hand over between the heterogeneous networks is provided to control the smooth transmission of adaptive media by supplying terminal handover state information to an application layer. CONSTITUTION: An adaptive media transmission control method about the hand over between the heterogeneous networks comprises a step of deciding a target network(B) for a hand over among searched neighbor nodes in which a mobile terminal(10) is searched. The mobile terminal transmits a handover information to an adaptive media server(80). The adaptive media server controls transfer rate of the adaptive media server through the handover information. The mobile terminal performs the handover to the target net. The mobile terminal receives adaptive media from the adaptive media server.

PURPOSE: A map matching apparatus and method of a moving object are provided to be used for a system for tracking the position of a moving body on a map or a vehicle navigator and to be able to apply to a special moving object which does not run on a typical road. CONSTITUTION: A map matching apparatus of a moving object comprises a location receiving unit(100), an electronic map unit(110), a virtual road center line creating unit(120), and a map matching unit(130). The location receiving unit receives the position coordinates of the moving object from the global positioning system receiver. The electronic map unit stores polygon data representing a particular object. The virtual road center line creating unit calculates the peripheral area within a given distance based on the position coordinates of the moving object. The virtual road center line creating unit searches the polygon data from the map data for the peripheral area calculated. The map matching unit finds the minimum distance between the position coordinates of the moving object and the virtual road center line created and then connects them with a line. The map matching unit calculates a dot meeting with the connected line or a dot on the line as a first location coordinate.

A user interfacing apparatus and a method using head gesture are provided to enable a user to use a terminal with one hand without any inconvenience. A learning unit(310) processes a command and grasps a face position for fast recognition. A recognized information management unit(320) stores the information obtained from a learning process. A recognition unit(330) extracts feature information from image data, and recognizes a head gesture based on the recognition information management unit.
Abstract:
Adaptive multimedia system and a method thereof for providing multimedia contents and codec to a user terminal are provided to download codec for decoding to an open codec player according to the presence of multimedia codec of the user terminal and run the multimedia contents. A media server controller(310) receives profile information from the open codec player of a user terminal. When codec for multimedia contents decoding is not in the user terminal, the media server controller transmits a control message so that the codec for multimedia contents and the decoding codec are together transmitted. According to the control message received from the media server controller, a transmission frame generator(330) encodes a multimedia source(320) through a transcoder(332) and an encoder by using codec pool. The transmission frame generator produces a transfer frame in which the multimedia contents and the decoding codec are included. The transmission frame generator transmits the transfer frame to the open codec player.

A potable device and a method thereof for providing help after the alpha blending of the help are provided to perform the alpha blending of a help screen of the potable device having various functions, show the help on a presently operating screen, and make the help disappear after a set time, thereby enabling a user to use the help without selecting a separate help function. A potable device provides help about a function. The potable device comprises a screen display unit(30), a help providing unit(40), and a controller(50). The screen display unit indicates the help about the function. When a plurality of operation functions is indicated on the screen display unit, the help providing unit provides the help about each of the operation functions to be indicated on the same screen. The controller controls the screen display unit to indicate the help provided through the help providing unit.

A communication method, a pico net coordinator thereof, a wireless local area network, and a mobile communication terminal apparatus are provided to move to a new channel when a currently using channel has error, thereby preventing communication disconnection. A channel divider(110) receives a channel allocation request from a device and determines whether QoS(Quality of Service) guaranteeing is required to the channel required for allocation. A monitoring processing unit(120) reserves a replacement channel about the channel in which the QoS guaranteeing is required. If a state error larger than a reference value in QoS information of the communication channel is detected, the monitoring processing unit replaces the communication channel with the replacement channel to communicate with the device.

An integrated remote control device for a plurality of electronic devices is provided to easily select and control electronic devices, such as a home network, etc., in a remote place by recognizing an electronic tag attached to each electronic device and outputting it on a display. An integrated remote control device(100) for a plurality of electronic devices comprises a sensor, a light-emitting module(104), and a control part. Each of the electronic devices includes a bit-pattern electronic tag having location information and device information. The sensor recognizes an electronic tag attached to a specific electronic device, and the light-emitting module(104) emits light toward the electronic device. The control part analyzes the electronic tag inputted through the sensor and outputs the information of the electronic device on a display(106). In case one among many electronic devices outputted on the display is selected, the control part controls the selected electronic device.
