    Abstract: High impact thermoplastic moulding compsn. is produced by polymerising a mixt. of 80-96 (wt.)% 8-10C mono-vinyl-aromatic monomer(s) (I), 3-20% elastomer(s) (II) contg. butadiene and/or styrene and 0.5-10% other components. The novelty is that the polymer chain of the (II) component is terminated with prim. amino gps. and the (III) component is a copolymer contg. 8-10C vinyl-aromatic monomer(s) and maleic anhydride. Reaction is carried out in the presence of additives, e.g. regulators, lubricants, stabilisers etc. Component (I) may also contain 15-40 % alpha, beta-unsatd. nitrile. Component (III) consists of 85-99.5% vinyl-aromatic monomer and 0.5-15% maleic anhydride units and opt. 15-40 % alpha, beta-unsatd. nitrile units.

    Abstract: A heat-distortion-resistant (heat-resistant) thermoplastic moulding composition containing a copolymer comprising the copolymerised monomers a) styrene and at least one b) N-substituted amide of methacrylic acid is characterised in that the monomers are present in the moulding composition in the following proportions, based on a) + b): a) from 5 to 95% by weight b) from 95 to 5% by weight, and furthermore that the monomer b) is the amide of methacrylic acid of the formula where R is a primary, secondary or tertiary alkyl radical, a cycloalkyl radical, an aryl radical or an aralkyl radical having 1 to 12 carbon atoms, with the proviso that, for methyl and isopropyl as alkyl radical, the copolymers have a styrene content of less than 75% by weight. The moulding composition is used for the production of heat-distortion-resistant mouldings, optionally in composites with other thermoplastics.

    Abstract: A heat-distortion-resistant (heat-resistant) thermoplastic moulding composition containing a terpolymer comprising the copolymerised monomers a) styrene b) acrylonitrile and at least one c) N-substituted amide of an alpha , beta -monoolefinically unsaturated monocarboxylic acid is characterised in that the monomers are present in the moulding composition in the following proportions, based on a) + b) + c): a) from 1 to 94% by weight b) from 1 to 40% by weight, c) from 5 to 98% by weight, and furthermore that the monomer c) is the amide of methacrylic acid of the formula where R is a primary, secondary or tertiary alkyl radical, a cycloalkyl radical, an aryl radical or an aralkyl radical having 1 to 12 carbon atoms. The moulding composition is used for the production of heat-distortion-resistant mouldings, or composites with other thermoplastics.

The moulding composition is used to produce heat-resistant mouldings or composites.
