Abstract: A method for controlling undesired vegetation at a plant cultivation site is provided, which comprises the steps of providing, at said site, a plant comprising at least a nucleotide sequence encoding a wild-type hydroxyphenyl pyruvate dioxygenase or a mutated hydroxyphenyl pyruvate dioxygenase (mut-HPPD) which is resistant or tolerant to a coumarone-derivative herbicide and/or a nucleotide sequence encoding a wild-type homogentisate solanesyl transferase or a mutated homogentisate solanesyl transferase (mut-HST) which is resistant or tolerant to a coumarone-derivative herbicide applying to said site an effective amount of said herbicide. Plants comprising mut-HPPD and methods of obtaining such plants are also provided.

Abstract: Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Bekämpfen von unerwünschtem Pflanzenwuchs an einem Pflanzenkultivierungsort. Das Verfahren umfasst die Schritte Bereitstellen, an diesem Ort, einer Pflanze, die mindestens eine Nukleinsäure umfasst, die eine Nukleotidsequenz umfasst, die für eine Wildtyp- Hydroxyphenylpyruvatdioxygenase oder eine mutierte Hydroxyphenylpyruvatdioxygenase (mut-HPPD) codiert, die gegen ein Cumaronderivatherbizid resistent und/oder tolerant ist, und/oder eine Nukleotidsequenz umfasst, die für eine Wildtyp-Homogentisatsolanesyltransferase oder eine mutierte Homogentisatsolanesyltransferase (mut-HST) codiert, die gegen ein Cumaronderivatherbizid resistent oder tolerant ist, und dann Ausbringen einer wirksamen Menge dieses Herbizids auf die Pflanzenkultivierungsstelle. Weiterhin betrifft die Erfindung Pflanzen, umfassend mut-HPPD, sowie Verfahren zum Erzeugen von solchen Pflanzen.
