    Abstract: PURPOSE:To stabilize potential characteristics in any environment ranging from low temp. and humidity to high temp. and humidity by forming an intermediate layer of polyether polyamide resin. CONSTITUTION:When a photosensitive layer is formed on an electrically conductive support with an intermediate layer in-between to obtain a sensitive body, the intermediate layer is made of polyether polyamide resin (A). A (co)polymer of one or more kinds of monomers selected among polyether diamine, polyether dicarboxylic acid (ester) and polyether dicarboxylic acid chloride is preferably used as the component A. A compd. represented by the formula may be used as the component A and other resin and additives may be added to the component A as required.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain potential characteristics and superior images stabilized in all the environmental conditions from low temperature and low humidity to high temperature and high humidity by adding a small amount of salts to a resin interlayer. CONSTITUTION:The interlayer contains a resin component and at least one kind of salt selected from inorganic salts and organic salts additives in an amount of 1 - 800ppm per the resin comonent. Since the salts are more affinitive to a solvent than the resin, they gather in high concentration near the surface of the interlayer as the solvent migrates to the surface of the interlayer at the time of drying after coating, thus permitting injectability of carriers from a photosensitive layers formed on the interlayer at the interface between both layer, rise of potential in the light and that of residual potential under low temperature and low humidity to be prevented, and drop of potential in the dark under high temperature and high humidity to be also avoided, and environmental stability to be enhanced.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain high sensitivity in the entire spectral region and to decrease the potential fluctuations associated with durability so that characteristics are stabilized by laminating plural charge generating layers having specific conditions between a conductive base and charge generating layer of an electrophotographing sensitive body. CONSTITUTION:The charge generating layers 2 and 3 and the charge transfer layer 4 are laminated in this order on the conductive base 1. The holes of the light carriers generated by the charge generating layers are injected in the direction of the layer 4 and the electrons in the direction of the base 1. Since the work function of the joined generating layer, i.e., the layer 3, is smaller by 0.3eV than that of the layer 2, the acceptance and transfer of the holes and electrons are smoothly executed. The high-sensitivity elec trophotographic characteristics are obtd. in the region from short to long wave lengths and the excellent characteristics of the decreased potential fluctuations such as the increase of the residual potential and the increase of the bright part potential associated with the durability are obtd. by laminating the layers having the different spectral sensities under said conditions.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve injection of carriers from an electric charge generating layer to a charge transfer layer and to enhance printing resistance by rendering the work function of the charge generating layer higher than that of the charge transfer layer and the difference of them a specified value or more. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic sensitive body is prepared by laminating a photosensitive layer composed of the charge generating layer and the charge transfer layer on a conductive supporting body, and the work function of the charge generating layer is made higher than that of the charge transfer layer and the difference of them is regulated to >=0.2eV. The work function of the charge generating layer is regulated by combining a charge generating material, such as azo pigments, with a binder, such as a vinylbutyral resin, and the work function of the charge transfer layer containing the charge transfer material, such as hydrazone derivatives, is allowed to match that of the generating layer, thus permitting rise of potential in the light to be lessened by specifying the work functions of the generating layer and the transfer layer, consequently, durability of a high-speed copying machine to be enhanced, and superior characteristics to be obtained.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting element having high-luminance and long- life light output by including a metal complex compound in at least one layer among organic compound-containing layers clamped between a pair of electrodes consisting of a positive electrode and a negative electrode. SOLUTION: A metal complex compound uses a compound represented by formula I as a ligand. The coordinate metal is selected from Li, Na, K, Be, Mg, Ca, Ru, Zn, Al, Cd, Si, Ge, Sn, Eu, desirably. In the formula, each of R1-R5 represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an aryl group, an aralkyl group, a nitro group, an amino group, a carbonyl group, an ether group, or a nitryl group, and two of the groups may form a fused ring. For example, a metal complex represented by formula II or the like is available. According to a vacuum deposition method or a solution applying method, an organic layer containing the metal complex compound is formed between a positive electrode and a negative electrode in an organic light emitting element. A thickness of the organic layer is thinly set below 2 μm, desirably. An inexpensive element with a large area can be provided.
