Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a static recording device in which the tone characteristics of printing density can be varied at tone sites by varying the start time of pulse voltage application between magnetic poles of a magnetic roll by means of a timing control means and varying the tone characteristics. CONSTITUTION:The tone characteristics of image density are fixed by varying the start time of voltage application for forming one dot (one dot recording time) to the rotating time between the magnetic pole angles 9 of a magnetic roll 15a. More particularly the time when the magnetic pole N of the roll 15a reaches phi is set as the start time of pulse voltage application to be applied to a linear electrode 17. The above-said time is set as the time when heads of a magnetic toners T on a recording electrode EL are in the state of standing on a container electrode peripheral surface at the time of starting the application. The roll 15a is rotated by theta/2 to vary the flux density of a recording section W and correspondingly the heads of toners T are rotated by 90 deg. from the standing state to the laying state. A developer remains on the recording section W during the period of varying the toners T.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide an electrostatic recording apparatus ensuring the close contact properties of an intermediate recording medium with a transfer device and the electrical characteristics thereof and capable of efficiently forming a toner image of high quality without performing corona discharge. CONSTITUTION:An elastomer roll is used as an intermediate recording medium having a cylindrical electrode 5 formed thereto and a transfer roll 4 composed of metal is used and both rolls are brought to a contact state under predetermined pressure and paper is fed to the nip between both rolls to transfer the toner image formed on the cylindrical electrode 5 to the paper. By this constitution, the transfer roll can be constituted of a simple metallic roll and, since one of the rolls is composed of an elastomer, certain transfer processing can be performed.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To form a recording image having high quality which is free from image defects such as surface staining and deficient density stably for a long period by securely preventing a recording electrode gap part from being charged electrostatically by friction. CONSTITUTION:At a recording part W adjacent to the peripheral surface of a cylindrical electrode 5, a recording electrode sheet 17 is adhered to the peripheral surface of a developing sleeve 15. The recording electrode sheet 17 is formed by laying many recording electrode lines 17a, having recording electrodes EL atop, at equal intervals in parallel on a flexible insulating sheet material formed by laminating an electrode base sheet 17b and a base film 17c. The electrode base sheet 17b is formed of the same resin as resin coated with carriers of a developer. Consequently, electrostatic charging by the friction of the recording electrode gap part Se against the developer can be minimized.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make lasting and stable acquisition of dot recording images in high resolution having excellent dot reproducibility possible for an electrostatic recording device that is made up in a compact structure employing non-contact type image formation method in which development and recording are executed simultaneously by a method wherein overlapping development in formation of black dots is restrained and the black dots in correct sizes are formed constantly with developing agent made adherent uniformly. CONSTITUTION:Recording voltage (Vs) that varies between a voltage (-200V) for making it 'on' for formation of black dots by transferring toners and a voltage (0V) for making it 'off' for recording of the transferred toners is applied to recording electrodes in accordance with dot recording information, and thereby a dot recording image is formed. At this time, the voltage for making it 'off' is applied regularly over a time TR around the end of a recording cycle Tw for one dot, regardless of the dot recording information.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to arrange recording electrodes in parallel accurately and easily at a fine pitch by arranging the recording electrodes in the cross direction in string form in parallel on an end having a narrow width on a flexible substrate, mounting record signal generating means in a manner connectable electrically with each recording electrode on an end having a wide width, and covering the surface of a developer carrying member with the narrow end part. CONSTITUTION:A number of recording electrode lines 17a are arranged in parallel at a fine pitch corresponding to an image density on an end having a narrow width of a recording electrode sheet 17 so as to form a recording electrode string ER. On the other hand, on an end having a wide width of the recording electrode sheet 17, a plurality of driving circuit elements 18 for outputting a record signal voltage to each recording electrode E constituting the recording electrode string ER in accordance with an input recording information are mounted. In this case, the recording electrode lines 17a are divided into groups. Each group has N lines which are extended on the wide end part to which LSI chip driving circuit elements 18 are connected directly respectively. The recording electrode sheet 17 arranges the narrow end part, on which the recording electrodes are formed in parallel, in a position most adjacent to the circumferential surface of a cylindrical electrode 5 on the circumference surface of a developing sleeve 15, so as to cover about half of the circumferential surface of the developing sleeve 15.

CONSTITUTION:A step difference G is formed in an upstream position with respect to a toner conveying direction from an opposing position with respect to a position Nc most adjacent to a developing sleeve 15 on the circumferential surface of a cylindrical electrode 5. A recording electrode sheet 17 is arranged such that the whole width of a tip of the sheet 17 protrudes uniformly to the downstream side from the step difference G so as to cover the circumferential surface of the developing sleeve 15. Slits C are formed on base films 17b between each recording electrode EL, respectively. These slits C are formed not only between the recording electrodes El, but also in parts covered with an insulating coat 17c. Thus, each recording electrode El is separated from the recording electrodes El on both sides so as to be capable of oscillating freely individually in the direction of thickness.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To stabilize formation of a high resolution image by disposing an electrode, applied with a surface layer composed of a material having volume resistivity variable with the intensity of working electric field, oppositely to a recording electrode. CONSTITUTION:A tubular electrode 5 has a double layer structure in which a surface layer 5b is laminated on the peripheral surface of a conductive sleeve 5a. The surface layer 5b is composed of such material as the volume resistivity decreases as the intensity of working electric field increases. Developing field for forming black dots has maximum intensity in the center of the width of recording electrode line and the intensity decreases substantially in symmetrical toward the opposite ends over the width of the electrode. Since the surface layer 5b composed of an dielectric is applied on the tubular electrode 5 at a recording position W, volume resistivity is minimized at a part opposing to the lateral center of the recording electrode line when the developing electric field functions on the surface layer 5b of the tubular electrode and the electric lines of force is converged to the central part of dot thus reducing the radiation angle theta. According to the constitution, a recording image having high resolution can be formed stably for a long term.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To stably form a sharp recording image having high resolving power by forming at least the part holding a recording electrode of a developer carrier member from an insulating material and forming a large number of recessed parts to the surface of the insulating material part and respectively arranging recording electrodes to the bottom surfaces of the recessed parts. CONSTITUTION:Recording electrodes EL are arranged to a large number of the grooves G parallelly formed to the surface of an insulating coating layer 17c becoming a developer carrying surface so as to extend in a developer feed direction so that the leading end parts of the recording electrode wires 17a thereof extend on the bottom surfaces of the grooves G. The magnetic toner (d) fed to the surface of the insulating coating layer 17c enters the grooves G at a recording position W. Since the magnetic permeability of the magnetic toner (d) is larger than that of the insulating coating layer 17c forming both side walls of the grooves G, the line of magnetic force generated from a magnet roll is converged to the grooves G. The magnetic toner (d) runs in a line along the converged line of magnetic force to gather on each of the recording electrodes EL and a toner chain extending toward a cylindrical electrode 5 is formed. Since no magnetic toner (d) is almost present between the adjacent recording electrodes EL, EL, the generation of a voltage leak phenomenon between the recording electrodes EL is certainly prevented and a sharp toner recording image can be formed.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To stably form an image of high resolution by laying plural recording electrodes on the surface of a developer carrying member in parallel and arranging a cylindrical electrode provided with a surface layer consisting of a material whose volume electric resistance value is changed according to the intensity of a working electric field by opposing it to the recording electrode. CONSTITUTION:The cylindrical electrode 5 is formed into the structure of two layers obtained by laminating the surface layer 5b on an electrical conductive sleeve 5a. Then, the surface layer 5b is formed of the material having a characteristic that the volume electric resistance value thereof is reduced according as the intensity of the working electric field becomes large. At a recording part W, the lines of electric force in developing electric fields respectively formed by a recording electrode wire 15b which is turned on are focused at the central part of a dot because the surface layer 5b of a dielectric substance is provided and the radiating angle of the line of the electric force becomes small. Thus, the toner recording image of the high resolution consisting of the dot whose contour is proper size is stably formed on the surface of the cylindrical electrode 5 even at the recording part W where a sufficient distance between the electrodes is secured.

CONSTITUTION:The plural magnetic rolls 13A and 13B having magnetic poles on the circumferential surfaces are separately arranged, and the developer feeding means obtained by laying the developer carrying member 14 made of a non-magnetic material between the rolls 13A and 13B, a recording means where the plural recording electrodes 15 are juxtaposed in a direction perpendicular to a developer feeding direction and where a driving circuit which outputs a recording voltage in accordance with inputted recording information to the respective electrodes 15 is disposed between the rolls 13A and 13B, and a cylindrical electrode 5 are provided. Then, the recording voltage is impressed on an electrode counter part where the recording electrode 15 and the cylindrical electrode 5 are opposed, so that developer carried to the electrode counter part by the developer feeding means 14 is selectively transferred to the cylindrical electrode side. Thus, a high-resolution recorded image is stably formed without abrading a recording head.
