Abstract:
An electronic reader device configured to receive at least one set of source data for processing in a manner so as to display at least one electronic reading material. The electronic reader device includes a processing portion and a display portion coupled to the processing portion. The processing portion can be configured to process at least one set of source data in a manner so as to produce graphic data. Graphic data can be communicated to the display portion which can be configured to display graphic data as display data in a stereoscopic display mode. The display data can correspond to a graphic representation. In the stereoscopic display mode, the graphic representation is associable with a three dimensional imaging based graphic representation such that the display data correspond to a graphic representation where at least one portion of the at least one electronic reading material is visually perceivable to be projecting from the display portion.
Abstract:
A method for association based identification. The method includes providing at least one identifier and communicating identification information based on the at least one identifier. The method further includes receiving and processing identification information. Each of the at least one identifier can be associated with a color code. Identification information can be processed in a manner so as to produce association data. The association data can be associated with at least a characteristic data from a set of library data. The set of library data can correspond to a library of color codes and a characteristic data from the set of library data can correspond to a color code from the library of color codes. The association data is based upon to produce output signals. The output signals can be based on characteristic data associable with the association data.
Abstract:
There is provided methods for increasing a number of media playback devices served by a communications base station. The communications base station may be for transmitting data using a broadcast video band frequency and both transmitting and receiving data using a mobile broadband frequency. The methods enable the communications base station to serve a greater number of media playback devices in the idle mode compared to a lesser number of media playback devices in the active mode. Both the broadcast video band frequency and the mobile broadband frequency may be a data network such as, for example, WiMAX, HSxPA, HSPA+, LTE and so forth.
Abstract:
There is provided a method and system for distributing media content over a wireless network. There may be at least one primary stream of media content and the at least one secondary stream of media content being transmitted either simultaneously or with a time lag. Preferably, the at least one primary stream of media content takes up a substantially higher bandwidth over the wireless network compared to the at least one secondary stream of media content, and the at least one primary stream of media content is dropped by a signal receiver at areas of the wireless network with a degraded signal of the at least one primary stream of media content, where the degraded signal may be in a form which is not readable.
Abstract:
There are provided methods and systems for consuming media content among a group of at least two entities. The at least two entities may include a host entity. It is advantageous that the host entity is able to determine the at least one reaction of each of the entities other than the host entity in real-time during consumption of the media content. It is preferable that the host entity is able to ascertain a spontaneous perception of the media content by each of the entities other than the host entity by determining the at least one reaction of each of the entities other than the host entity.
Abstract:
There is provided a sound reproduction apparatus including a sub-woofer unit and a plurality of wireless speakers. A method of speaker charging and speaker calibration using the sound reproduction apparatus is also provided. The sub-woofer unit may be configured to perform tasks of both charging a power source in each of the plurality of wireless speakers; and calibrating speaker identity for each of the plurality of wireless speakers. It is advantageous that both of the tasks are performed when the plurality of wireless speakers is coupled to the sub-woofer unit. The speaker identity may include, for example, left front, right front, left rear, right rear, and centre.
Abstract:
A method and system for file distribution, the system comprising: a first data storage device for distributing a content file by seeding the content file for downloading by another data storage device; a second data storage device configured for distributing the content file; a third data storage device configured for distributing the content file; and a data file comprising at least one data entry, a data entry in the data file being associated with the content file, the first data storage device being configured for pushing the data file to the second data storage device, the second data storage device being configured for initiating downloading of the content file if the data entry associated with the content file is present in the pushed data file and the content file is not stored at the second data storage device, and sharing downloaded data of the content file with the third data storage device by simultaneously uploading downloaded data of the content file to the third data storage device while downloading the content file from the first data storage device.
Abstract:
An earphone set with a first earphone and a second earphone, the earphone set comprising: a connector for connecting the first earphone and the second earphone; a memory module for storing audio data; and a power management module for preventing short circuit or inductive surge in current arising from connection or disconnection of the first earphone or the second earphone from the connector, the first earphone comprising: a first sound driver for sound production; and a power supply module for powering the earphone set; the second earphone comprising: a second sound driver for sound production; and a processing unit for converting the stored audio data in the memory module into sound producible by the first sound driver and the second sound driver, the power supply module being adapted to provide power to the first sound driver, the memory module, the second sound driver, and the processing unit, the connector enabling a functional connection between the first earphone and the second earphone, the memory module being resided in at least one of the first earphone, the second earphone and the connector, wherein the connector being coupled to at least one controller for manipulating sound produced by the first and second sound drivers and being detachably connected to the first earphone or the second earphone.
Abstract:
There is provided a method for communications involving at least one text message. The method includes a sender apparatus transmitting at least one message, the at least one message including message data and at least one video filmlet; transmitting the message data over a first network and the at least one video filmlet to a server on a second network; and a recipient apparatus receiving the at least one message, the at least one message being combined and generated from the message data received from the first network and the at least one video filmlet received from the server. Advantageously, the at least one message may be generated in a manner as composed by a sender of the at least one message. It is preferable that the sender and recipient apparatus are able to support a data sync protocol on the second network.
Abstract:
There is provided a method for incorporating a soundtrack into an edited video-with-audio recording using a video recording apparatus. The method includes recording the video-with-audio for subsequent playback. Subsequently, at least one soundtrack is incorporated as an audio tag, the at least one soundtrack being selected from a plurality of soundtracks generated from a soundtrack creator dependent on conditions such as, for example, parameters of content of the recorded video-with-audio, user-defined characteristics for the at least one soundtrack, or a combination of both of the aforementioned conditions. Content of the video-with-audio incorporated with the selected soundtrack is reviewed. The user may edit the content of video-with-audio incorporated with the selected soundtrack by removing image frames of the video-with-audio; and rectify the selected soundtrack using the soundtrack creator such that the edited video-with-audio has a fluent soundtrack similar to the selected soundtrack. The edited video-with-audio is thus enhanced in relation to aural effects in a desired manner by the user. In another aspect, there is provided an audio tag used to generate a soundtrack in a video-with-audio using a soundtrack creator.
