Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for producing a coded graphic representation. The method includes providing a graphic array and processing at least a portion of the graphic array. A graphic array can be provided such that an array of graphic indications which includes a plurality of graphic indication pairs can be provided. Each of the plurality of graphic indication pair can have at least a first graphic element and a second graphic element. The first and second graphic element can be spaced apart such that each of the plurality of graphic indication pairs can be associated with an element pitch. The element pitches of the plurality of graphic indication pairs can be substantially similar. At least a portion of the graphic array can be processed by displacing at least one graphic indication pair in the plurality of graphic indication pairs such that at least one element pitch is deviated.
Abstract:
There is provided a method for monitoring activities of a first user on any of a plurality of platforms, with the first user having access to a first computing device for use by the first user. The method may include two modes which allows a master user to monitor activities of the first user even when the master user is not connected to the world wide web (offline).
Abstract:
A system and method for facilitating user communication from a location. The system comprises two or more cameras for capturing two or more videos at a first location, a control unit for streaming one or more of the videos captured to a first communication unit at the first location through a first network, and streaming one or more of the videos captured to a second communication unit located at a second location through a second network, a server for identifying a location data of the first location based on an identifier of the control unit, and a communication platform associated with the first location. The communication platform is accessible by the first and second communication units through the first and second networks respectively. The communication platform comprises a first display for displaying one or more of the videos captured, a second display for displaying the location data of the first location identified by the server, and one or more control interfaces for controlling the camera view of the one or more videos displayed in the first display, wherein controlling the camera view comprises switching the one or more videos displayed in the first display between videos captured by the two or more cameras.
Abstract:
There is provided a method for communications involving at least one text message. The method includes a sender apparatus transmitting at least one message, the at least one message including message data and at least one video filmlet; transmitting the message data over a first network and the at least one video filmlet to a server on a second network; and a recipient apparatus receiving the at least one message, the at least one message being combined and generated from the message data received from the first network and the at least one video filmlet received from the server. Advantageously, the at least one message may be generated in a manner as composed by a sender of the at least one message. It is preferable that the sender and recipient apparatus are able to support a data sync protocol on the second network.
Abstract:
There is provided a method and apparatus for reverse printing a plurality of images interlaced with each other on an underside surface of an appropriate flexible lenticular substrate. The method includes analyzing a viewing orientation of either portrait configuration or landscape configuration of at least one of the plurality of images; determining whether the appropriate flexible lenticular substrate is used for the printing of the plurality of images interlaced with each other in accordance with the viewing orientation of one of the plurality of images; analyzing an orientation of a first marker on the underside surface of the appropriate flexible lenticular substrate; and printing the plurality of images interlaced with each other in accordance with the orientation of the first marker on the underside of the appropriate flexible lenticular substrate. It is advantageous that the printed plurality of images interlaced with each other, when viewed through a top surface of the appropriate flexible lenticular substrate, appear to have characteristics selected from the group consisting of: depth, morphing characteristics, can appear to have motion, and the capability to alternate from one image to another.
Abstract:
A portable storage device (100), which can be connected in series with at least one other portable storage device (100) via interconnecting plugs (110) and sockets (120) which adhere to a standard, such as the Universal Serial Bus (USB) or IEEE 1394 standards; and where the storage device (100) comprises a processor running firmware, which enables the interconnected devices to operate as if they were a single storage device, with the file allocation table from each connected device (100) cascading down to the first connected device (100), where it is stored in memory; and where a single file can be distributed over several interconnected storage devices.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for enabling a user to amend an audio file via a user interface for controlling a drive for re-authoring the audio file. The method comprising: a) associating icons on a display of the user interface with one or more instruments or sets of instruments in the audio file; b) the user selecting an icon (103); c) the user assigning a position to the icon (105) on the display to indicate the virtual position relative to the user of the associated instrument/s; d) the user assigning a trajectory to the icon (107) from a selection of provided trajectories that define the virtual path relative to the user of the associated instrument/s; e) indicating on the display the position of the icon and whether a trajectory has been assigned to the icon. This can be used in applying three-dimensional audio data to a MIDI file.
Abstract:
There is provided a method for creating a stereoscopic image sequence. The method can include capturing a sequence of static images and forming a plurality of image pairs. Each image pair can include a first image and a second image selected from the sequence of static images. Selection of the first image can be done in a manner so that the image pairs are formed a spatially coherent manner. The stereoscopic image sequence can be created based on the image pairs. Creating the stereoscopic image sequence can, for example, relate to producing a stereoscopic video.
Abstract:
A device such as a speaker apparatus is provided. The speaker apparatus can include a body portion and a display portion. The body portion can carry at least one speaker driver. The display portion can be coupled to the body portion. Additionally, the display portion can be moved relative to the body portion between a display position and a kept position. When in either the display position or the kept position, emission of sound from the speaker driver can remain substantially unimpeded by the display portion. Additionally, the speaker driver is capable of sound emission when the display portion is in either the display position or the kept position.
Abstract:
A speaker apparatus suitable for use with a computer operable for communicating audio signals to the speaker apparatus.
