    Abstract: An optical coherence tomography (OCT) apparatus includes an optical source, an interferometer generating an object beam and a reference beam, a transverse scanner for scanning an object with said object beam, and a processor for generating an OCT image from an OCT signal returned by said interferometer. At least the optical source, the interferometer, and the scanner are mounted on a common translation stage displaceable towards and away from said object. A dynamic focus solution is provided when the scanner and a folded object path are placed on the translation stage.

    Abstract: A safety gate (10) comprises a frame (12) and a gate part (14) pivotally mounted on the frame (12). The frame (12) is adapted to be mounted across a space, for example in a doorway. The frame (12) defines an opening closed off by the gate part (14). The gate part comprises a latch (24) engageable with a keep (44) on the frame (12). The gate (10) also comprises an engaging member (64) on the gate part (14) for engaging the frame (12). The gate (10) thus requires two actions to open—unlatching of the latch (24) from the keep (44) and disengagement of the engaging member (64) by movement of the gate part (14) preferably in a non-opening direction of the gate (10), i.e., upwardly.
