    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cold resistance-improving agent for a farm product, capable of exhibiting extreme cold resistance-improving effects in various farm products. SOLUTION: This cold resistance-improving agent for the farm products comprises (1) an alcohol represented by general formula 1-1 [R is a 10-22C hydrocarbon group; R is H, OH or a 1-24C hydrocarbon group; and R is H or a 1-24C hydrocarbon group], (2) an ether compound represented by general formula 2-1: R -O-(AO)m -R (2-1) [R is a 12-24C hydrocarbon group; R is H or a 1-24C hydrocarbon group; AO is a 2-4C oxyalkylene group; and m is an average added molar number and 0-5], (3) a fatty acid of general formula 3-1: R -COO-(AO)n -R (3-1) [R is an 11-29C hydrocarbon group; R is H or a 1-30C hydrocarbon group; AO is a 2-4C oxyalkylene group; and n is an average added molar number and 0-5] or an ester compound thereof, (4) an organic acid derivative obtained by bonding one or more functional groups of an organic acid having the two or more functional groups to a 1-30C group, and (5) a glycerol derivative.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an agent for holding plant freshness which can exert a fresh holding effect irrespective of the kinds of cut flowers and vegetables and shows high safety by including a specific antioxidant and a specific surfactant as essential components. SOLUTION: This agent for holding plant freshness is obtained by including (A) an antioxidant capable of inhibiting ethylene biosynthesis or controlling ethylene action and (B) at least one kind of surfactant selected from sugar derivative-type surfactants and sugar alcohol derivative-type surfactants as essential components. It is favorable that the component B is a surfactant having a structure obtained by forming a glycoside-linkage or an ester-linkage between a sugar or sugar alcohol and a hydrophobic group. Further, it is favorable that the weight ratio of the components A to B is 0.0002-1000. The agent for holding plant freshness can be used as a powder preparation containing the components A and B or the like, a concentrated aqueous liquid preparation containing the components A and B in high concentrations or an aqueous liquid preparation used as it is by means of immersion, spray or the like.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject medium suitable as a medium substituting for a soil for a plant such as a potted plant and a cut flower by including a specific amount of a water absorptive polymer and a surfactant. SOLUTION: The objective medium contains 0.01-10 wt.% water absorptive polymer and 0.0001-20 wt.% surfactant. The water absorptive polymer is preferably an anionic polymer, a nonionic polymer or a mixture thereof.     Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a new activity-increasing agent composition for an agrichemical capable of exhibiting an activity-increasing effect or various kinds of agrichemicals by compounding an enzyme with a surfactant in a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION: This activity-increasing agent composition for an agrichemical is obtained by compounding an enzyme (preferably a hydrolytic enzyme) capable of decomposing a protection component or support component of a target life with a surfactant in a ratio of the enzyme/the surfactant = 0.1-50, especially 0.5-20 in terms of weight ratio. The above enzyme is carbohydrate decomposing enzymes, proteases, lipolytic enzymes, etc. In the case of a herbicide, cellulases and esterases are preferable as the enzyme among the above enzyme, and a lipase and cutinase are further preferable among the esterases. In the case of an insecticide and acaricide, a chitinase is preferable. In the case of a microbicidal agent, a protease and lysozyme are especially preferable. As the surfactant, a nonionic surfactant (especially preferably a polyol ester, etc.) and/or a cationic surfactant (e.g. talosamine-ethylene oxide adduct) is preferable.
