Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent two-phase formation of refrigerant before indoor side conductive expansion valves in each chamber when superheat degrees of refrigerants of all indoor units are raised and to prevent a decrease in capacity of the unit by so controlling to simultaneously close openings of the valves when all the superheat degrees of outlet tubes of the indoor units are a specified value or more. CONSTITUTION:The room cooling controller for a multichamber type air conditioner comprises heating degree detecting means 8a-8c for detecting superheat degree of outlet tubes of indoor side heat exchangers, room temperature detecting means 9a-9c for detecting room temperatures, and temperature setting means 10a-10c for setting a target temperature. Superheat degree deciding means 18 decides a protection control when all the superheat degrees detected by the means 8a-8c are a specified value (e.g. 15K) or more. Control switching means 19 switches a normal control and a protection control from a value of the means 18. Here, protection control time opening calculating means 20 calculates a value for simultaneously closing openings of all indoor side motorized expansion valves 7a-7c at the time of the protection control, and controls the valves 7a-7c by opening control means 17a-17c.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a multi-chamber type air conditioner in which a cooling operation and a heating operation can be freely selected for every indoor device under a freezing cycle, an accumulation of refrigerant in an indoor heat exchanger of the stopped indoor device is prevented under a less-expensive specification and then a desired cooling or heating capability can always be assured. CONSTITUTION:A multi-chamber type air conditioner is provided with an indoor device operating state sensor 21 and an indoor device controlling means 22 for use in sensing whether an indoor device 6 performs a cooling operation and a heating operation or the indoor device 6 is stopped. The indoor device control means 22 fully closes an expansion valve 7 in respect to the indoor device 6 being stopped in reference to a result of sensing operation of the indoor device operating state sensor 21, closes either the first solenoid valve 12 or the second solenoid valve 13 connected to a high voltage side and opens either one of them connected to a low voltage side.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance the comfort at start-up of cooling operation by a method wherein fuzzy reasoning is carried out at start-up of cooling operation according to change amounts in the suction pressure and deviations from the target temperature, and weighting of start-up operating controls and normal operating controls is performed according to the judgment result to transfer operation mode from start-up operation to normal operation. CONSTITUTION:A variable capacity compressor 2 is controlled by a frequency inverter 12 according to the detected pressure of a pressure sensor 11. The suction pressure of the compressor 2 begins to change when the compressor 2 is started, and the pressure detector 11 detects the suction pressure from the time T at time intervals t. A controlled variable arithmetic device 17 calculates suction pressure change amounts P and deviations DP from the target value. The calculated results are input to a fuzzy reasoning device 18, and start-up operating control 14 and normal operating control 15 are change over to one another according to the judgment rule that is necessary for fuzzy theory and stored in a memory 16. That is, when the deviation is positive and large and the change amount is negative and large, the start-up operating control 14 is selected, and when the deviation is positive and large and the change amount is small, the normal operating control 15 is chosen.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To keep cooling-capacity proper, by a method wherein in the time of cooling, a mean value for the degree of subcooling in each indoor machine is compared with the degree thereof preset, the amount of the heat-exchange of a liquid pipe for a gas pipe is regulated by a regulating means for the amount thereof, and the degree thereof is controlled at a specified value. CONSTITUTION:In the time of cooling, a high temperature gas with high pressure compressed by a compressor 3 is turned into a liquid refrigerant with the high pressure by a heat- exchanger 5 on the side of an outdoor machine, and the liquid refrigerant passes an expansion valve 6 on the side thereof, and its flow is divided into a bypass 11a and the liquid pipe 11. After the liquid refrigerant passing a liquid-to-gas heat-exchanger 14 is cooled with a gaseous refrigerant in a gas pipe 12a on the side of suction, it again joins in the liquid pipe 11 and flows into indoor machines 2a, 2b. The pressure of the liquid refrigerant is reduced by expansion valves 8a, 8b on the side of indoor machines and the heat-exchange of the liquid refrigerant for the indoor air is done by heat-exchangers 9a, 9b on the indoor side, so that the liquid refrigerant is turned into a low temp. gas with low pressure, and the gaseous refrigerant returns to the compressor 3 through a gas pipe 12. For the control of the degree of subcooling, time degree of subcooling of the liquid refrigerant is detected by detectors 20a, 20b and a mean value is calculated in an operation circuit 21. In a deciding circuit 22, the mean value is compared with the degree thereof preset, a regulating valve 13 is regulated by a regulator 23, a refrigerant flow rate in the heat-exchanger 14 is regulated, and the degree of subcooling is controlled at a specified value.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable a normal operation pressure state to be always kept even during a heating operation by a method wherein an outdoor device is provided with the second four-way valve, and refrigerant is circulated from an expansion valve of an indoor device toward a heat exchanger at the indoor device during cooling and heating operations. CONSTITUTION:A solenoid four-way valve 13a is inserted into an outlet of a liquid pipe 11 and an outlet of an outdoor device 1. During a heating operation, for example, only an indoor device is operated, the four-way valve 13a is electrically energized,resulting in that gas of high temperature and high pressure passes through conduits 13d and 13c, is heat exchanged at an indoor device heat exchanger 9d, condensed there, passes through a conduit 13e and a conduit 13b. A pressure of the gas is reduced by an expansion valve 5 at the outdoor device and the gas returns to the compressor 2. At this time, since the expansion valves 8a, 8b and 8c at the indoor devices 7a, 7b and 7c are all closed under their stopped conditions, the gas of high temperature and high pressure passed through the conduit 13c is not fed into the heat exchangers 9a, 9b and 9c at the indoor devices. Accordingly, even if the heating conditions are varied, the device can be always operated at a proper operating pressure.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent dropdown of capacity by a method wherein a heat exchanging means is provided for heat exchanging between a liquid pipe and a gas pipe of a high positioned room unit among a plurality of room units so that, even when the room units are positioned differently in the height, the refrigerant before a room unit side expansion valve of every room unit is turned into liquid phase. CONSTITUTION:In a multi-room air conditioner, for example, an outdoor unit 1 is arranged on the ground, another room unit 7a is on the fourth floor, and a further room unit 7b is on the first floor. During cooling operation, high temperature and high pressure gas compressed by a compressor 2 is led through a fourway valve 3 and condensed by an outdoor side heat exchanger 4 into a liquid refrigerant of high pressure, which passes through a liquid pipe 11 and, with the room unit 7a, flows into a heat exchanging means 14 and a room side expansion valve 8a, and with the room unit 7b, flows into a room side expansion valve 8b. During heating operation, the high temperature and high pressure gas compressed by the compressor 2 is led though the fourway valve 3 and, with the room unit 7a, flows to the upstream side of the heat exchanging means 14, and with the room unit 7b, flows into the room side heat exchanger 9b. Thus, if the outdoor unit is arranged low and the room unit is high, a liquid-gas heat exchanging means is provided for increasing subcooling degree during the cooling operation in the high positioned room unit, so that both cooling and heating operations can be obtained without dropdowns of capacity.
