Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To considerably reduce a job time by identifying a diagnostic history of an abnormality diagnosis item detected finally among display of diagnostic histories stored in a memory so as to make a job such as inspection of an electronic device efficient and easy. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a memory 21 storing a diagnostic history by a self-diagnostic function and a display means 19 properly displaying the diagnostic histories stored in the memory 21. When the diagnostic history of an abnormality diagnosis item is going to be displayed on the display means 19, a system microcomputer 20 reads data from a prescribed address of the memory 21. Then an item generate finally and denoting an abnormality whose flag is set is retrieved. When the abnormality diagnostic item generated finally through this retrieval is discriminated, the system microcomputer 20 changes color data of columns of item names of abnormality diagnostic items and the number of times of occurrence and display equivalent to one screen are transferred to the display means 19.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To deal with partial destruction generated in a non-volatile memory as well concerning a television receiver with which control data are stored in the non-volatile memory. SOLUTION: The control data are stored in non-volatile memories 6 and 7. The standard values of control data are stored in ROM 8 and 9. When a command for setting at the standard values is applied by a commander 33 or an input key 31, the control values in the nonvolatile memories 6 and 7 are switched to the standard values of control data in the ROM 8 and 9. Therefore, even when the nonvolatile memory is destroyed, the television receiver can be operated.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfactorily discriminate a picture mode by superimposing prescribed DC to a chroma signal outputted by an output terminal and a discriminating the signal at the time of a full mode display. SOLUTION: A video signal and a Y/C separation signal from a switching circuit 7 are supplied for a picture mode discrimination circuit 24. The picture mode discrimination circuit 24 detects an S1 signal superimposed to a VBID signal inserted to the video signal and a chroma signal supplied for an input terminal 8, the information that a decoder 10 is decoding EDTV-2 and black belts provided at the upper and lower parts of a luminance signal to discriminate a picture mode which should be selected. In this case, at the time of executing a full mode display, for the luminance signal Y, DC 5V is superimposed to the chroma signal of the Y/C separation signal taken out by the output terminal 19, and the VBID signal showing the full mode is inserted in the vertical blanking period of the video signal to finish the processing.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a screen display in an excellent way at all times by inhibiting an automatic screen mode changeover under a prescribed condition so as to prevent useless switching. SOLUTION: Reception signals by tuners 2, 5 and a video and aural signal received by a video input terminal 7 are fed to a switching circuit 8, which selects a desired signal. Then a video signal outputted from the circuit 8 and a Y/C separate signal are given to a screen mode judgement circuit 26, in which an ID signal in which a non-display black stripe is inserted to the video signal is detected to judge the screen mode to be selected. The judgement information is fed to a main control microcomputer 22 via a bus line 23. Furthermore, a control signal from the microcomputer 22 is fed to a video processing circuit 10 and a deflection circuit 17 via the line 23. Thus, nonlinear control by the deflection system 18, write read address control for an image processing memory by the circuit 10 and screen mode changeover by pattern magnification and expansion are conducted. Thus, even in the case of the receiver judging the display pattern size and switching it, automatic changeover is inhibited.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a video signal having another aspect ratio on the display screen of a wide aspect ratio. SOLUTION: Video signals from tuners 2 and 4 are supplied to a changeover switch 8 through a video amplifier circuit 7, and a video signal (HD) of the 16:9 aspect ratio and a video signal (PC) from a personal computer are supplied to the changeover switch 8 through terminals 9 and 10, and the selected video signal is supplied to a picture reception tube 12 through a video processing circuit 11. The signal from the video processing circuit 11 is supplied to the deflecting system of the picture reception tube 12 through a deflection switching circuit 13, and the control signal from a microcomputer 5 is supplied to the deflection switching circuit 13 to switch the deflection. Deflection of the picture reception tune 12 is switched for all of these video signals in accordance with the control signal selected by a select key 16 provided on a remote controller 15.

CONSTITUTION: A microcomputer 1 is provided with a switch control circuit 3 and and an I C bus master interface 2. Arm I C bus 20 constituted of a data line 20A and a clock line 20B is connected to the interface 2. The bus 20 is branched to IC buses 21 to 24 and switches 4, 7, 10, 13 are connected to respective input parts of the buses 21 to 24. In the constitution, the circuit 3 recognizes the transferred destination of data transferred from the interface 2, turns on only the switch connected to the I C bus to be the data transferred destination out of the switches 4, 7, 10, 13 connected to the input parts of the buses 21 to 24 and turns of the other switches.
