The selection means 33D supplies the desired sound volume level of either 'vary' or 'fix' to the sound output terminal 34. Thus, the viewer can freely set the output form of the sound output terminal 34 of 'fix' and 'vary' by hands. Thus, the viewer is free from the trouble of wiring and he can use the function.

A tube surface display signal generation circuit 6D generates a tube surface display signal synchronously with a signal V. Even if the scroll value is changed, the tube surface display position can be set to prescribed height and the occurrence of the V-jitter at the time of the non-standard mode can be prevented.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To allow the audience to easily understand that a sound field expanding function is turned on in terms of a television receiver with a sound field expanding function by varying a graphic displayed on a screen as the sound volume of a sound field expnading sound increases in a TV receiver having the sound field expanding function. CONSTITUTION:When a sound field expanding function switch 17 is turned on, a control signal from a control microcomputer 15 sets sound field expnading signals SL' and SR' from a sound field expnading signal generator 11 to level '1' from level '0', and operates sound volume adjusting amplifiers 12L and 12R. Thus the control signal is supplied from the microcomputer 15 through a D/A converter 16, increase the gains of the amplifiers 12L and 12R, gradually increases the sound volumes of sound field expanding speakers 14L and 14R. Simultaneously the control signal is supplied to the microcomputer 15, or a character generator CG18, which generates a character signal SCH. The generate signal is overlapped 5 with chrominance components R, G and B, whereby a character SCH showing a graphic is displayed on the screen 100 of an image receiving tube 7. The character gradually gets larger as the sound volumes of the speakers 14L and 14R increase.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To shorten a manufacturing process by adding such a function with which the operating information is not displayed on a production line to a display device of a TV receiver. CONSTITUTION:A TV receiver contains a function to decide the presence of a display inhibition bit and a channel counter is kept at '0' if the display inhibition bit is added (set at '0'). Then the buffer of a ROM 22 is not loaded either. Therefore the channel selection is possible without displaying the channel information on the screen if a remote control transmitting part (commander) that can display the display inhibition bit is used. In this case, the channel that can add the display inhibition bit only to the commander that is used at a production plant is used. As a result, the channel information is not displayed on the screen when the white balance or the convergence of the TV receiver is controlled. Thus a control job can be immediately started and therefore the manufacturing process is shortened.
