    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium which can be formed as a thin film and is capable of satisfactorily reproducing a digital recording signal, even at the time of storing the medium for a long period of time under high temperature and high humidity conditions and in particular, by which a signal can be subjected to linear digital recording in the longitudinal direction with a fixed head. SOLUTION: This recording medium is provided with a polyester film one surface A of which has a 2 to 20 nm SRa value (surface roughness value defined in JIS B 0601 or other equivalent standards) and the other surface B of which has a 2 to 50 nm SRa value and also, which has a Young's modulus of 7,000 MPa or larger in the longitudinal direction and a Young's modulus of 6,000 MPa or larger in the width direction, a nonmagnetic metal or metal oxide layer formed at least on the surface B, and a magnetic layer formed on the side of the surface A.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a surface precipitated oligomer with excellent feeding durability by forming specific number or more of fine protrusions having a specific height on at least one surface, incorporating a specific amount of more of organic additive in a film, and further specifying its mean dispersion size. SOLUTION: The film is formed of a polyester, and 2,000,00 pieces/mm or more of fine protrusions having a height of 10 to 50 nm ar formed at least on one side surface of the film. Further, 0.01 to 1.5 wt.% of an organic additive is contained in the film. As the additive, a higher ester is used, and added immediately before a polymerization of a polyester is completed. After completion of the polymerization, it is again kneaded, and mean dispersion size in the film is set to less than 0.2 μm. To form the fine protrusions, the film is obtained by laminating three or more layers. Thus, excellent feeding durability can be performed, and faults of the film surface can be suppressed.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a traveling property, a dropout, and an anti-abrasion property of a laminated polyester film by allowing protrusions and recessions to coexist on at least one side surface of a polyester film, and specifying a number ratio in both of them, and a ratio between the protrusion height and the average depth respectively. SOLUTION: Protrusions and recessions are allowed to coexist on at least one surface of a polyester film having a layer formation of at least three layers or more, and the relation of a number ratio X (protrusion numbers pieces/mm )/ Y (recession numbers pieces/mm ) of both of them is set in the range of 10-1000. If the value of X/Y is in the lower limit or below, an output characteristic lowers as being made into a magnetic tape, and if it exceeds the upper limit, its traveling durability and anti-abrasion property get worse. In addition, a ratio (h/d) between the average height (h) of the protrusions and the average depth (d) of the recessions existing on the surface of the polyester film is in the range of 0.5-3; preferably 0.8-2.5. At the lower limit or below of (h/d), a dropout occurs, and as it comes beyond the upper limit, its traveling durability and anti-abrasion property worsen.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To deal with a high density formation of a floppy disk by forming an inner layer part of a laminated film of at least three-layer structure made of a surface layer and the inner layer of polyethylene-2,6-naphthalate, and forming specific number of protrusions each having a specific height at least on one surface. SOLUTION: The laminated polyester film adapted to a base film for a large capacity floppy disk having a storage capacity of 100 Mbits or more is formed of a laminated film of at least three-layer structure having a surface layer and an inner layer, and its inner layer part is formed of polyethylene-2,6- naphthalate. Protrusions each having a height of 50 to 150 nm of 5000 pieces/mm or more are formed on at least one surface of the film, and a thickness of the film is formed to 50 to 100 μm. And, as polyester for constituting the surface layer, polyester having a crystallization parameter ΔTcg at lower than 60 deg.C is used. And, centerline mean roughness Ra of a surface having the protrusions is preferably 5 to 20 nm to allow high output and feeding durability to be compatible.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide output and running durability to a tape for digital recording and to decrease oligomer deposited on the surface by providing projections with specified height and density at least one face of a laminated polyester film with at least three layers and specifying the angle of contact to the water on the surface and the wholly reflecting Raman crystallization index. SOLUTION: For a biaxially oriented laminated polyester film with at least three layers, there exist at least 200 million/mm projections with a height of 10-50nm at least on one surface and the angle of contact to the water on the surface is 40-55 deg. and the wholly reflecting Raman crystallization index is at most 20cm . For forming the fine projections, 0.05-1.5wt.% inactive particles such as a colloidal silica to the whole wt. or the surface layer are incorporated in the surface layer. To make the angle of contact in a specified range, a metal sulfonate of the general formula CnH2n+1 -C6 H4 -SO3 M (wherein n=6-30 and M = an alkali metal or an alkali earth metal) is incorporated in the inner layer of a film and coextrusion is performed for the wholly reflecting Raman crystallization index.
