Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin separator for a battery and its manufacture, having high strength and a high liquid-holding performance. SOLUTION: This separator for a battery has fabric diameters of 0.5-20 μm, longitudinal tensile strength of 60-300 N/5 cm, and thickness less than 0.2 mm. After manufacturing a nonwoven fabric made from synthetic fiber, it is drawn at least in one axis direction, and web-like structures where the synthetic fiber is drawn in a thin film state are formed between component fibers of the synthetic fiber nonwoven fabric. This separator can be suitably used particularly for a nickel-hydrogen secondary battery.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sterilizing package in which a sterilization treatment by use of high pressure steam, ethylene oxide gas, or the like can be securely executed and the residual gas does not remain in the bag after the sterilization treatment and hence the sterilized material is not contaminated again and the bag is prevented from peeling off during the sterilization treatment and further the bag hardly raises a nap on opening. SOLUTION: Thermoplastic resin coating films 6 are formed on fiber positioned at the most outside surface of at least one side face of a material 4 like non-woven cloth, in this sterilizing package. The package body is constituted of a permeable base material 1 at least provided with holes 7 formed by the surrounding fibers coated with the films 6 and an impermeable base material 2. The permeable base material 2 and the impermeable base material are connected to each other through the thermoplastic resin.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep flavor or the like of food by removing vapor, water content, oil content emitted from the food by absorption by a method wherein water vapor permeability of a laminate of a nonporous thermoplastic resin film and nonwoven fabric is made at least a specific value. SOLUTION: This packaging material for food is obtained wherein for example, polyester as thermoplastic resin is made into a film by a melt extrusion method, and the non-porous polyester film is laminated on nonwoven fabric by thermal adhesion, and they re monoaxially stretched thereafter. Further, its water vapor permeability is at least 1,000g/(m .day). When the nonwoven fabric is laminated on a food side, stickiness of the food is prevented by absorbing water content, and oil content which are emitted from the food, and deterioration of flavor is prevented. Furthermore, by forming a webbed structure wherein a filmy product is formed at a confounding point on the food surface side of the nonwoven fabric under a state wherein single fibers are fusion welded to each other, the water content and oil content which are once absorbed are prevented from flowing backward.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the moisture permeability and the waterproofness to be simultaneously highly compatible by laminating a substantially non-porous film made of thermoplastic resin and nonwoven fabric, and setting the laminate to specific moisture permeability and specific water resistance. SOLUTION: Polyester composition containing polyethylene terephthalate as a main body is particularly desired as thermoplastic resin to be used. Polyester long fiber containing polyethylene terephthalate as a main body is particularly desired as nonwoven fabric. The thermoplastic resin is formed in a film by a melting extrusion method, the film is thermally adhered to the fabric, and then at least uniaxially oriented. The moisture permeability of the laminate is set to 1000g/(m .day) or more, and the water resistance is set to 500mm or more. Thus, the high moisture permeability and waterproofness can be simultaneously compatible.

In the process, particles having the surface treated with an aromatic compound expressed by the formula [R1 is sulfonic acid group or alkali metallic salt of the sulfonic acid group, carboxyl group or alkali metallic salt of the carboxyl group; R2 is sulfonic acid group or alkali metallic salt of the sulfonic acid group, carboxyl or alkali metallic salt of the carboxyl or H; R3 and R4 are COO(CH2)1OH, COOCmH2m+1 or CnH2n+1 ((l), (m) and (n) are 0-20)] are added to a system before completing the polycondensing reaction to afford the objective composition.

SOLUTION: The polyester resin sheet which is made a sheet in which a layer of a thermoplastic resin A having melt resistivity at least ten times as large as that of the polyester resin is laminated on at least one side of the main layer of the polyester resin sheet is melt and discharged from a nozzle onto a rotary cooling body. Voltage is applied between electrodes installed on the sheet to charge the sheet, and the sheet is cooled while being adhered to the rotary cooling body to produce the polyester resin sheet.
