Abstract:
A combination of phosphonoinidazoline at surfactant, soluble polyvalent metal ions, and a metal etching component, which is tolerant of aluminum cations and aluminate anions, when used as the Stage 4 rinse for aluminum cans provides good can mobility and good resistance to loss of mobility during heating of the treated cans to a greater extent than is normal during high speed processing. A concentrate of the active ingredients of such a Stage 4 treatment also maintains its effectiveness for longer than do similar produels when stored at high ambient temperatures.
Abstract:
A heavy duty lubricating grease as shown which includes a multi-purpose heavy duty hydrocarbonaceous lubricant thickened by an alkaline soap to form a lubricating grease, molybdenum disulfide and powdered calcium fluoride. The heavy duty grease can be used in a journal bearing of a drill bit in heavy duty, high temperature applications, such as journal bearings on its used to drill hot subterranean formations.
Abstract:
Lubricant system for sheet and section rolling mills, containing a solid lubricant, an adhesive component and/or a thickening agent, and also water as a carrier medium. The lubricant system is sprayed onto the working cylinder in the roll stand as a suspension, at least some of the water evaporating and a firmly adhering, waterproof, lubricating and separating film forming on the working cylinders.
Abstract:
This invention provides lubricants which perform stable operation even at high temperatures and under heavy loading. The lubricants are prepared by dispersing at least one of finely powdered resin selected from aromatic resin and polyimide resin into the fluid fats and oils. The flowable fats and oils may further contain molybdenum disulfide, organic molybdenum, boron nitride, or PTFE.
Abstract:
A new water-base lubricant composition has been discovered which is uniquely suitable for elevated temperature metal forming operations. The water-base lubricant invention herein generally comprises, about 1% to about 40% by weight of a polycarboxylic acid salt reaction product, such as trimellitic acid and an alkali metal or an alkali earth metal hydroxide, such that the pH of the composition is about 6.5 to about 10; about 0.1% to about 12% by weight of a water dispersible thickening agent; and the balance water. The water-base lubricant may also include extreme pressure additives, performance enhancers, and biocidal agents. Also disclosed is a process for using the above-described water-base lubricant composition.
Abstract:
Compositions, which are obtained by mixing and/or, optionally simultaneously, grinding a preferably liquid phosphate and a solid lubricant component, such as, graphite, are very suitable as additives for lubicants.
Abstract:
Organic peroxide curable polydiorganosiloxane compositions having improved release from metal molds upon curing are disclosed. In addition to the conventional high molecular weight polydiorganosiloxane gum, reinforcing filler, structure control additives, and curing agent, the improved compositions of this invention contain from 0.05 to 3 parts by weight of a polydiorganosiloxane fluid having methyl groups and carboxyfunctional groups as substituents.
Abstract:
An improved lubricating oil composition comprising a major amount by weight of oil of lubricating viscosity; a minor amount by weight of solid particles effective to improve the lubricating properties of the composition; and a minor amount by weight of at least one of certain specific polymers has been found to provide improved inhibition of sludge and varnish formation in use. The polymers useful in the present composition comprise(1) an olefin polymer, for example, an ethylene, propylene and 1,4-hexadiene terepolymer, with an dialkylaminoalkyl methacrylate grafted thereon;(2) an interpolymer prepared from a long chain n alkyl-methacrylate and a dialkylaminoalkylmethacrylate or a N (alkanone) acrylamide; or(3) mixtures thereof.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a polymeric antimicrobial composition, a method of producing the same and the uses thereof. The ionomer composition comprises an amine functional polymer compound reacted with silver halide, optionally together with a stabilizing component, such as an organic substance carrying a sulfonamide functional group. The ionomer composition can be obtained by reacting together (i) at least one polyamine and silver halide and optionally at least one organic stabilizer substance or; (ii) at least one polyamine, at least one non-halide silver salt or silver complex, hydrogen halide and/or alkaline metal halide salt and optionally at least one organic stabilizer substance. The present ionomer composition is suitable for use as an antimicrobial coating, antimicrobial finish, antimicrobial additive and as antimicrobial component for formation of new antimicrobial materials.
