PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a wire cable to achieve a longer life without increasing complication in production and to reduce noise generated during actuation.SOLUTION: A wire cable comprises a plurality of element wires (15) produced from twisted wires (16), the element wires (15) being twisted around a plastic core (11) and disposed between long and thin inserts (12). The inserts (12) extend to the approximately outer periphery of the wire cable (10), and the inserts (12) have radiuses fitting the element wires (15) on both sides of each insert in regions contacting the element wires (15). The element wires (15) in a closed state are disposed so as to cover directly the plastic core (11) along a given periphery region (11'), and the inserts (12) are disposed inside at a certain distance (a) from the plastic core (11). Therefore, the wire cable is designed optimally for elongating a length of life.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting in high accuracy the breakage of wires in resin-coated wire rope. SOLUTION: The wire rope 51 comprises a single core schenkel 11 at the center, a plurality of side schenkels 12 arranged via a coating resin 1 around the core schenkel 11 and an outer layer coating resin 4 applied around the outer circumference of the side schenkels 12. In the wire rope 51, the core schenkel 11 and each of the side schenkels 12 are each formed by laying up a plurality of strands 5, 6, 14 and 15 each of which is formed by laying up metallic wires 16, and all of the wires of at least one of the strands in the plurality of side schenkels are lower in mechanical strength than the other strands' wires. Abstract:
PURPOSE: A steel cord of a tire is characterized by maintaining intervals between side strands, having excellent rubber-penetrating property, preventing penetration of moisture in producing the tire or in use, preventing corrosion of the cord and increasing adhesive durability. CONSTITUTION: A steel cord of a tire comprises: a core wire(PG, 1b) twisted one polygonal filament having n of flat sides in a middle; and side strands(2) having d of diameter and covering the core wire(1b). A structure of the steel cord is 1x(PG)+nxd. A twist direction and a pitch of the core wire(1b) are identical with a twist direction and a pitch of the side strand(2).
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A wire rope core is provided to extend the durability of the wire rope by forming a grease recharging groove to recharge the grease lubricant with using an indent forming roller on the surface of a plastic coating layer coated on an outer circumference of a core strand through an extruder. CONSTITUTION: A wire rope core(14) coated with a plastic coating layer(13) passed through an extruder(12) is cooled by passing a cooling equipment(not shown) during a moving process. The cooled core(14) has an oval-shaped concave grease groove(16) on the surface of the plastic coating layer(13) during a passing process through a couple of forming rollers(15). The grease recharging groove(16) is formed on the whole outer circumference of the plastic coating layer(13) in regular intervals. The core(14) passes a grease chamber(18) filled with grease(17) as a deposition state. The grease(17) is recharged into the grease recharging groove(16). Thereby, the wire rope core continuously supplies the lubricant to the wire rope and extends the durability from a result of an effective rust proofing.

A sealed rope (1) comprising an elongated core (3) comprising a thermoplastic material and a multitude of load bearing yarns forming a layer (2) around said core (3), wherein, during manufacturing, in between said yarns voids are initially present, wherein at least part of said voids are at least partly filled in the final sealed rope (1) by said thermoplastic material from said core (3). Moreover, the invention is directed to a method of producing the rope and use of the rope in for instance fishery or mining. The rope shows reduced internal wear compared to a rope comprising said voids.

The present invention provides a spiral strand formed of a plurality of layers, each layer being formed of a plurality of individual wires. At least one inner layer is adapted to have a greater resistance to radial forces than other layers, such that the inner layer is better able to resist the higher radial forces that are generated within the inner layers of relatively larger spiral strands, for example strands that have seven or more layers provided radially outwardly of the adapted inner layer. The inner layer may be adapted by including shaped wires that provide contact surfaces between layers that have a greater surface area.

Disclosed is a method for producing a high strength synthetic strength member containing rope capable of being used with powered blocks where such rope has lighter weight and similar or greater strength than steel wire strength member containing ropes used with powered blocks. Disclosed also is the product resulting from such method. The product includes a synthetic strength member, a first synthetic portion and a second synthetic portion. The first synthetic portion is enclosed within the strength member and the second synthetic portion is situated external the strength member. At least a portion of the second synthetic portion also is situated internal a sheath formed about the strength member. The first and second synthetic portions having differing elasticity values, the second synthetic portion having greater elasticity than the first synthetic portion. Preferably, the elasticity of the second synthetic portion is in a range of from 20% to 550% when measured at any temperature within 2°C of 0°C.
