Abstract:
A high temperature shape memory alloy is provided which possesses high machinability and is suitable for high temperature application. The high temperature shape memory alloy consists of Ni from 34.7mol% to 48.5mol%, and at least either Zircon or Hafnium as transformation temperature increasing additives, with the sum of which 6.8mol% to 22.5mol%; and at least either Niobium or Tantalum as machinability improving additives, with the sum of which 1mol% to 30mol%; and Boron less than 2 mol%; and Titanium as the balance; and unavoidable impurity.
Abstract:
A solid-solution strengthened superalloy weld composition, includes:
about 0 to about 10 wt% Co; about 18 to about 22 wt% Cr; about 0.2 to about 0.7 wt% Al; about 15 to about 28 wt% of the sum of refractory elements; up to about 0.09 wt% C; up to about 0.06 wt% Zr; up to about 0.015 wt% B; about 0.4 to about 1.2 wt% Mn; about 0.2 to about 0.45 wt% Si; and balance Ni.
Abstract:
A cermet comprises a ceramic component (e.g., WC) and a binder comprised of a major component (e.g., one or more of iron, nickel, cobalt, their mixtures, and their alloys) and at least one additive component (e.g., one or more of ruthenium, rhodium, palladium, osnium, iridium, and platinum) which imparts corrosion resistance to the cermet. Parts composed of this cermet include plungers for hyper compressors used in the corrosive environments generated during the manufacture of low density polyethylene (LDPE) or ethylene copolymers.
Abstract:
A fluid impeller for applications requiring superior cavitation erosion resistance. The impeller has a body fabricated from a castable metastable austenitic steel alloy which has a chemical composition in the range according to table (I), the balance comprising iron and impurities. The preferred range is 17.5-18.5 % chromium, 0.5-0.75 % nickel, 0.45-0.55 % silicon, 0.2-0.25 % nitrogen, 15.5-16.0 % manganese and 0.1-0.12 % carbon. Quantitative testing has shown cavitation resistance of four to six times that of standard boiler feed pump materials. A method for making cavitation resistant fluid impellers is also disclosed.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: An alloy cast iron and a method for manufacturing a rolling piston of a rotary using the same are provided to reduce manufacturing cost with enough mechanical properties by removing or minimizing the content of expensive Ni, Cr, Mo, and others. CONSTITUTION: An alloy cast iron is composed of 3.0-3.5 wt.% of C, 2.2-2.4 wt.% of Si, 0.5-1.0 wt.% of Mn, 0.1-0.3 wt.% of P, 0.06-0.08 wt.% of S, 0.7-1.0 wt.% of Cr, 0.6-1.0 wt.% of Cu, and the rest of Fe and inevitable impurities. The alloy cast iron includes 3-8% of stenadite in volume ratio. The alloy cast iron is heat-treated by quenching and tempering.
