Abstract: PURPOSE: A communication apparatus for performing text-to-voice/voice-to-text conversion and method thereof are provided to allow the hearing-impaired to easily communicate with the other party by converting a voice-level signal to a text-level signal and a text-level signal to a voice-level signal. CONSTITUTION: It is determined whether a signal communicated in a text mode is a received signal or a transmitted signal(S200). If the signal is a received signal in the text mode, the received signal is down-converted and a voice-level signal is detected(S210).
