Abstract:
Devices for generating streamwise vorticity in a boundary includes various forms of vortex generators. One form of a split-ramp vortex generator includes a first ramp element and a second ramp element with front ends and back ends, ramp surfaces extending between the front ends and the back ends, and vertical surfaces extending between the front ends and the back ends adjacent the ramp surfaces. A flow channel is between the first ramp element and the second ramp element. The back ends of the ramp elements have a height greater than a height of the front ends, and the front ends of the ramp elements have a width greater than a width of the back ends.
Abstract:
A liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal panel, a timing controller providing an enable signal to output a digital image data, a data driver converting the digital image data into an analog image signal, and a polarity generator in the data driver for dividing a frequency of the enable signal to generate a polarity control signal for changing the polarity of the analog image data at each rising edge of the enable signal.
Abstract:
An apparatus for use with an elevator car is operable to selectively lock an elevator car door. The apparatus verifies that the elevator car door is closed, locks the elevator car door, and verifies that a lock is engaged. Once conditions are met, the apparatus signals an elevator controller that the elevator car can move through a hoistway. The apparatus further ensures that passengers can safely disembark from the elevator car by detecting the position of the elevator car relative to a designated landing zone within the hoistway, and confirming the elevator car is stopped at a landing zone prior to disengaging the lock. The apparatus thus ensures that the elevator car door remains closed while the elevator car is in motion or between landing zones.
Abstract:
A method of programming a nonvolatile memory device comprises programming target memory cells among a plurality of memory cells connected to a wordline, performing a first sensing operation on the plurality of memory cells, and selectively performing a second sensing operation on the target memory cells based on a result of the first sensing operation.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an electro-luminescence display and a driving method thereof wherein a thin film transistor is prevented from the deterioration, to thereby improve a picture quality. An electro-luminescence (EL) display, including: a plurality of drive voltage supply lines; N compensation voltage supply lines; EL cells at each crossing of a plurality of data lines and a plurality of gate lines in a matrix, wherein the EL cells emit light in response to currents applied from the drive voltage supply lines; driving thin film transistors (TFT) connected between the EL cells and compensation voltage supply lines that control the current applied to the EL cells; and a bias switch, connected between the N−1th compensation voltage supply line and a control terminal of the driving TFT connected to the Nth compensation voltage supply line that applies a bias voltage to the driving TFT when a scan pulse is supplied to the N−1th gate line.
Abstract:
A mobile terminal and message list displaying method therein are disclosed, by which a message item of a counterpart terminal (or an unchecked message) having sent an unchecked message may be displayed at a specific point on a message list regardless of an arrangement reference of message items. This may include receiving at least one message from each counterpart terminal, generating the message list including at least one message item corresponding to each counterpart terminal, determining whether an unchecked message exists in the received at least one message, and when the unchecked message exists as a result of the determining, displaying the generated message list by displaying the message item corresponding to the counterpart terminal having transmitted the unchecked message at a specific position in the message list regardless of an arrangement reference of the message item.
Abstract:
