Abstract:
PURPOSE: A multicast service management method and apparatus thereof are provided to offer multicast service identification information mapped to a group zone identifier. CONSTITUTION: A base station periodically broadcasts messages including multicast service flow mapping information of a neighbor multicast group zone and a current multicast group zone for supporting mobility(S510). When a mobile station moves to the neighbor multicast group zone across a multicast group zone border, the mobile station updates multicast parameters related to a multicast service flow based on the received broadcast message(S520). [Reference numerals] (51) Mobile station; (52) Base station; (S510) Multicast service flow mapping information; (S520) Multicast parameter update and multicast reception

PURPOSE: A cell optimization method using a multi-function terminal is provided to optimize the configuration of cells by enabling a terminal to conduct a role of a base station. CONSTITUTION: A terminal broadcasts an SCN-ADV(Scanning-Advertisement) message to other terminals(S2210). The terminal transmits the SCN-ADV message to other terminals according to the sequence of a neighbor list(S2220). The terminal adds new neighbors to the scanning broadcast message(S2230). The terminal broadcasts an LINK-REP(Link-Response) message(S2240). The terminal requests BS(Base Station) function switching to the terminal(S2260).

PURPOSE: A multicast resource allocation method is provided to reduce power loss by decoding MAP IE(Mobile Application Protocol Information Element) through the validity date of multicast resources which continuously allocated. CONSTITUTION: A BS(Base Station)(42) continuously allocates multicast resources to a multicast group. The base station transmits a downlink control channel including a multicast resource assignment information. An MS(Mobile Station)(41) identifies MAP IE based on the received MAP IE. The MS confirms multicast resources continuously allocated through the multicast resource allocation information of the identified MAP IE. The MS receives a multicast burst through the multicast resources.

PURPOSE: A conversion method between multicast connection and unicast connection is provided to change the multicast connection into the unicast connection in a group communication according to situations. CONSTITUTION: A base station establishes multicast connection in plural mobile stations which attend to group communication. The base station changes unicast connection which respectively connects each mobile station into the multicast connection. The base station releases the unicast connection between mobile stations. In case the number of the mobile stations or the channel state of the mobile station is higher than threshold values, the base station changes the unicast connection into the multicast connection.

PURPOSE: A power saving mode control method in group communication is provided to effectively control a power saving mode in a terminal by using a power saving mode pattern. CONSTITUTION: A base station(310) and plural terminals(321-323) which participate in group communication establishes a sleep mode pattern through DSA(Dynamic Service Addition) transaction. The sleep mode pattern displays a sleep cycle. The sleep mode pattern includes a predetermined pattern for the terminals. A message transmitted by the terminals includes sleep mode pattern information.

PURPOSE: A method for establishing a relay location is provided to set an initial parameter of the relay device and a installation location of a repeater by detecting a shadow area within a cell in a base station. CONSTITUTION: A base station detects a shadow areas based on a preamble measurement value of a terminal(S310). The base station presumes a signal strength of a terminal spot based on the preamble measured value. The base station compares a presumed signal strength with a reference signal intensity. The base station establishes an installation position of a relay covering up the detected shadow area(S320).
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A wireless environment measuring apparatus and measuring method thereof are provided to measure a wireless environment based on a selected frame in a first mode and to avoid the collision between base stations. CONSTITUTION: A signal receiving unit(310) receives a signal from a neighboring base station. A frame scheduling unit(320) selects a frame which is used for measuring a wireless environment in a first mode and a second mode. A wireless environment measuring unit(330) measures a wireless environment based on a selected frame. The wireless environment measuring unit measures a wireless environment in a second mode.

PURPOSE: A method for allocating resources and controlling power is provided to measure an interference amount due to an adjacent cell in a portable internet system, thereby efficiently controlling power of the terminal without exchanging information between base stations. CONSTITUTION: A serving BS(Base Station) arranges terminals in a smaller order of CINR values based on a CINR(Carrier to Interference plus Noise Ratio) value of each terminal(S100). The serving BS allocates a sub channel of a data area corresponding to the first group among data areas in an uplink frame to terminals classified as the first group(S400). The serving base station allocates a sub channel of a data area corresponding to the second group among the data areas to the terminal classified as the second group.

PURPOSE: An effective hybrid-ARQ and ARQ scheme in a broadband wireless access system are provided to minimize an overhead of a feedback by interlinking HARQ and ARQ. CONSTITUTION: In a effective hybrid-ARQ and ARQ scheme in a broadband wireless access system, initial data is transmitted. A retransmission procedure is performed through a synchronous HARQ method, and a base station uses the asynchronous HARQ method by getting a scheduling gain. In the synchronous HARQ method, the conversation of the asynchronous HARQ method is informed to a terminal. An asynchronous mode indication field is inserted within a MAP message to inform a mode conversion to the terminal. The terminal recognizes the mode conversion, and the terminal inspects an assigned state of a retransmitting packet at each frame.
