    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the title film optimum corresponding to a use by further adding a separate layer to a specific laminated film. CONSTITUTION:A film A based on a thermoplastic resin A and particles is laminated to at least the single surface of a film B based on a thermoplastic resin B to obtain a biaxially oriented thermoplastic film wherein the average particle size of the particles contained in the film A is 0.1-10 times the thickness of the film A and the content thereof in the film A is 0.01- below 0.5wt.%. AC-layer composed of at least one layer selected from a discontinuous film (a) with a height of 10-1000Angstrom , a low crystalline resin layer (b) with a crystallizing parameter DELTATcg of 80 deg.C or higher and an antistatic resin layer (c) with surface resistance of 10 W/square or less is provided on at least the single surface of the film.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance the running properties and resistance to scratching of a film and obtain a good image quality in use for a magnetic recording medium by a method wherein a biaxially oriented film in use is obtained by laminating a layer mainly composed of a polyester A on one surface of a layer mainly composed of a polyester B. CONSTITUTION:In a biaxially oriented film obtained by laminating a layer A mainly composed of a polyester A on one surface of a layer B mainly composed of a polyester B, a center line average surface roughness difference DELTARa between both the surfaces of the film is not less than 0.005mum, 5X10 /mm or more projections are formed on the surface having a larger surface roughness Ra, and a projection/particle number ratio, i.e., a ratio of the number of projections to the number of particles contained in the layer A as a surface layer, is 5 or more. The kind of the polyester A is not particularly limited, but the crystallizing parameter DELTA Tcg of the polyester A is preferably 60 deg.C or lower.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve traveling properties and cutting resistance, to reduce a decrease in picture quality and to improve skew characteristics of a biaxially oriented laminated film by forming the film in a laminated structure of three or more layers, incorporating special particles in an outermost layer of its one side surface, and simultaneously processing means such as enhancing intrinsic viscosity of the outermost layer part. CONSTITUTION:A biaxially oriented laminated film is formed of a laminated structure of at least three or more layers. In this case, particles are contained at least in an outermost layer of its one side surface of the film. The relationship between a mean particle size (d) (mum) of the particle and a thickness(t) of the outermost layer is so set as to satisfy 0.2d -2X10 mm . Further, intrinsic viscosity of an intermediate layer is set to higher than that of the outermost layer part. Thus, fine protrusions on the surface of the film are optimized to improve traveling properties and cutting resistance, a decrease in picture quality at the time of using it as a magnetic medium is reduced, and its skew characteristics are improved.
