Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for joining work pieces such as glass without using adhesive materials and sealed vacuum envelopes for electron emission displays. SOLUTION: The joining method contemplates arranging parts 2 that will be joined together with the parts 4 contacting each other and projecting a laser beam 6 to irradiate an interface 7 between the parts to be joined through one of the parts, in a direction normal to the interface 7 to form a thermally joined portion around the interface, thus the parts to be joined are directly joined. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable joining even through a clearance between two materials to be joined is large in friction agitation joining with rotating a rotating body. SOLUTION: End parts of joining parts of extruded shapes 50, 60 have thick parts protruding outward. A rotating body is inserted into the thick parts 56, 66 to be joined by rotating. In such a state that a large diameter part 71 of the rotating part is positioned more outside from an extended line of of outer faces of plates 51, 61 of a general part, the rotating body is rotated. Further, while the rotating body is reciprocated in the direction orthogonal to a joining line, the rotating body is rotated along the joning line. By this method, joining is sufficiently enabled.
