Abstract:
An apparatus for producing pellets comprises a pelletizing chamber (3) with an inlet. The chamber (3) includes a die (7) having a wall with holes (8) for extruding pellets and presser means operably associated with said die (7) for pressing the bulk material to be pelletized out of said pelletizing chamber (3) through the holes (8) of said die (7). Advantageously, the presser means include a drum (9) which fits into the die (7) with a certain clearance to move towards/away from the holes (8), with drive means operating on the drum (9) to cause it to move within and relative to the die (7).
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and a device for pelletizing unprocessed cellulosic fibrous material on an industrial scale, and in particular to the use of said unprocessed cellulosic fibrous material pellets as a combustible fuel product.
Abstract:
The device consists of a rotating hollow roller (10) and a pressure roller (16) running inside it. The inside of the hollow roller has shaped annular grooves (12) with which engage correspondingly shaped annular ribs (18) on the pressure roller (16). Discharge through-holes (14) in the shaped grooves (12) distributed at a predetermined angular distance around the periphery of the roller open through the roller jacket. The hollow roller (10) rotates and thus the pressure roller (16) runs on the inner jacket. The material enters the pressing gap via the product feed pipe (22) and the slots (24) therein and is pressed out through the holes (14). It falls on a cooled conveyor belt (40) by which the pastilles (38) are taken away.
Abstract:
In a device for producing shot or beads from pourable material of differing viscosity, this material is taken into the pressing gap between a rotating hollow roller (1) and an externally toothed squeezing roller (2) meshing with it. In the hollow roller (1) there are drillings (5) extending from the bases of the teeth of the internal toothing to the outside of the hollow roller (1) through which the material is squeezed on the application of the squeezing roller (2) and deposited on a cooling surface (13) in the form of beads or shot. On the outer periphery of the hollow roller (1) may be arranged a jacket duct (3) having drillings aligned with those (5) of the hollow roller (1) having a smaller cross-section than that of the drillings in the hollow roller in order to facilitate the adaptation of the device to the viscosity of the pourable material to be processed. The frontal surfaces of the hollow roller (1) may be covered by plates (1a), (1b) at least one of which has a central drilling (12) through which passes a sealed hollow pipe (15) serving to feed in the material, whereby the hollow pipe (15) has outlet apertures inside the hollow roller (1) for the discharge of the pourable material. To the hollow pipe (15) are secured holders (14) on the free ends of which the squeezing roller (2) is arranged to rotate freely.
Abstract:
A cleaning procedure relates to cleaning of clogged holes or passages of lesser diameter, such as deep through-holes or through-holes with light of varying sizes, in particular such holes in dies for through-pressing of materials at the manufacturing of pellets, as in particular dies employed at pelletizing of feedstuff pellets. By means of the procedure a comparatively fast cleaning is obtainable without any particular damaging of the material of the walls of the holes. A control procedure for a fast-operating cleaning means is described. As fast-operating cleaning means a fast-emitted, possibly with supersonic speed emitted, thin water jet is applicable. An apparatus to be used together with the procedure is described. By means hereof it is possible to clean radially oriented holes or passages in a die (1) for pelletizing by means of a water jet emitted from a nozzle (2A) under a very high pressure.
Abstract:
Granulating device comprising a hollow cylinder (1) provided on its internal periphery with serrated strips (4) arranged axially and a press-roll (2) located inside said cylinder and rotating with it, said press-roll having on its external periphery corresponding axially-arranged serrated strips (5), and engaging with the hollow cylinder (1) in its lower region in a vertical plane. The hollow cylinder (1) is provided with rows of holes (6) which extend axially between the respective serrated strips (4). The material to be granulated is fed into the hollow cylinder (1) in the gap (11) which becomes narrower in the direction of rotation, said material being driven out by force and volumetrically as a result of the interaction between the serrated strips (4, 5). The drops (41) which form fall onto a cooling strip (7) where they solidify. This new device offers the advantage that the material is driven out in a forced manner with a specific volume, and yet at the same time a high production speed can be achieved as a result of the interaction of the rotating parts.
Abstract:
It is the object of the present invention to provide a method of controlling a pellet mill, said pellet mill comprising - a number of rollers (2,3,4), - a cylindrical die (1) provided with perforations, said rollers (2,3,4) being mounted inside said cylindrical die (1) for pressing material to be pelletized through said perforations, - an adjustment mechanism (5,6,7) for adjusting the distance between the rollers (2,3,4) and the die, (1) - a drive mechanism (M4) for rotationally driving said die (1) and said rollers (2,3,4), said method of controlling comprising the steps of - providing a measurement (8,9,10,11,12,13,14) of a parameter (x,y,z, W 1 ,W 2 ,W 3 ,W 4 ), said parameter indicating if an overload of the pellet mill is arising, and - in case of such indication being detected, reducing the load on the pellet mill by suitable countermeasures.
Abstract:
Rotary forming devices and methods of using the rotary forming devices for producing products such as filled and unfilled "pillow" shaped products. In an embodiment, the invention provides a device comprising a housing comprising a die plate defining a plurality of outlets. The housing defines an inlet. A race plate is attached to the die plate. The race plate circumscribes the outlets of the die plate. A forming wheel is rotatably attached to the die plate. A motor assembly is attached to the forming wheel. The motor assembly is constructed and arranged to rotate the forming wheel in a hypocycloid motion.
