Abstract:
A device for enriching a fluid with ozone includes an inner tubular member arranged within an outer tubular member and defining a separate flow path for a fluid within the inner tubular member and another one for a fluid between the inner and outer tubular members. An electrode which has a high voltage regulation and a coil portion which extends through the inner tubular member forms a grounding electrode. A fluid such as air which is to be enriched with ozone is passed either through the inner tubular member or the space between the two tubular members and a cooling fluid is passed in the other tubular member. The inner tubular member is made of an ultraviolet penetrable and heat resistant material such as quartz glass.

A method of sanitizing hard and soft goods comprising placing the goods within an a sealable enclosure; sealing the enclosure; producing ozone within the sealed enclosure; circulating the ozone within the sealed enclosure to sanitize the goods; adjusting the environment within the enclosure to optimize the sanitizing properties of and reduce the potential for the ozone to leak to the surrounding environment; removing the ozone to a prescribed safe concentration level; and maintaining the seal of the enclosure until the ozone concentration reaches the prescribed safe concentration level. The enclosure includes an open side; a sealing door for sealing the sealable enclosure; a locking mechanism; a circulation device, a fresh air heater; a vacuum pump, an ozone generator; an ozone destructor, wherein the ozone generator and ozone destructor are disposed within the sealable enclosure; and a humidification device to adjust the relative humidity inside the sealed enclosure.

A communications system and method involving a set top box (STB) and a channel stacking switch (CSS). The STB comprises a communications interface configured to issue a request for a user band, the request identifying the STB and further configured to receive a message identifying an assigned user band; and a tuning element configured to tune to the assigned user band in response to receipt of the message. The CSS comprises a communications interface configured to receive the request for a user band identifying the STB; a memory; and a processing entity configured to access the memory to identify a particular user band that is available for the STB and to assign the particular user band to the STB; wherein the communications interface is further configured to issue to the STB a message identifying the particular user band assigned to the STB.
Abstract:
An electro chemical conversion cell that can break down certain gasses to provide ozone and monovalent oxygen from a supplied volume of a suitable 02-containing gas. The conversion cell is provided with at least one metal mesh electrode within a generator reaction chamber, and a power supply which is adapted to supply a high alternating electric current voltage to at least partially break-down O 2 in the input gas to yield ozone. A fluid flow passage extends through the reaction chamber as a generally elongated passage through the reaction cavity. The fluid flow passage extends from an upstream end, where the O 2 -containing gas is initially supplied into the housing, to a downstream end where treated gas either flows outwardly therefrom under pressure or is evacuated from the housing. In a simplified construction, the fluid flow passage is delineated by a series of electrically insulating plates and/or spacers which are used to partition the reaction cavity.

A high efficiency plasma processing system for use in the generation of large quantities of gases, particularly hydrogen peroxide or ozone, for chemical commercial and industrial applications is based upon a homogeneous electrical glow discharge. In addition to the homogenous discharge, the high efficiency of ozone or other chemical production is achieved by exciting the discharge with high voltage pulses which have a voltage rate-of-rise in excess of 500 V/ns and incorporating an internal gas circulation system which maintains the temperature of the process gas to a level where the thermal decomposition of ozone, for example, is significantly reduced. A homogeneous and stable atmospheric glow discharge is developed by preionizing the discharge region with ultra-violet radiation, for example, immediately before the application of the main high voltage pulse across the electrodes of the discharge cell.

An assembly and method for treating or otherwise improving an atmosphere contained within an enclosed space. The enclosed space can be a container such as a bag or other housing for equipment, food and/or suitable material. Ozone is generated within an atmosphere that is exposed to the material. The generated ozone is mixed with the atmosphere. At least a portion of the generated ozone is then removed from the mixed atmosphere. The assembly and method can be used to treat contaminated sports equipment and the like, as well as to treat food storage atmospheres, such as those exposed to fresh fruits and vegetables.

Apparatus, method and system for delivering sterile unit dose of ozone. System includes sterile vial containing oxygen and corona discharge assembly. Sterile vial is engaged to ozone conversion unit having high voltage transformer, ozone measurement mechanism, data input mechanism, and displayed read-out. When power is supplied to sterile vial containing corona discharge assembly, oxygen is converted to specified concentration of ozone. Sterile vial is disengaged from ozone conversion unit, drawing port is attached, and needle or similar extraction tool is used to withdrawal ozone for treatment.
