A coating composition for use as an overcoat or heat resistant coating having improved heat resistance comprised of an aqueous latex polymer emulsion and a water soluble or water-dispersible resin which containing a sufficient number of either (a) carboxyl groups or (b) carboxyl and amide groups which will form at least one anhydride ring or imide, in the presence of sufficient heat, and release water molecules, with the latex polymer having a particle size of less than about 1600 Angstroms and containing an effective amount of a nitrogen containing volatile base to achieve a pH of greater than about 7.5 to keep the resin solubilized or dispersed.

Beschrieben werden eine Bindemittelzusammensetzung, diese enthaltende Überzugsmittel, Verfahren zu deren Herstellung und die Verwendung der Überzugsmittel zur Herstellung ein ein- oder mehrschichtigen Lackierungen, insbesondere auf dem Kraftfahrzeugsektor. Die Bindemittelzusammensetzung enthält:

The present invention provides a product and a manufacturing process for an aqueous dispersible dendritic polymer with various functionalities, and polymer compositions and polymer formulations comprising such a dendritic polymer. The aqueous dispersible dendritic polymer composition comprises a hydrophilic functional group to allow dispersion in aqueous solvents and improve washability of the polymer, a low surface tension functional group to impart resistance to dirt pick-up and optionally, a curable functional group to allow superior cross-linking capabilities and optionally, a softening functional group to impart flexibility to the composition.
