Abstract:
A non-contact type dental shade matching device is provided, comprising a camera body (1) for capturing images of one or more target teeth (7); an opaque intra-oral compartment (4) snugly adapted for a human mouth; an opaque cover shield body (3) connected between the camera body (1) and the intra-oral compartment (4); one or more holders (9) for holding one or more shade tabs (6); and a color matching module being operably connected to the camera body (1) to receive the captured images containing color and translucency information of the target tooth (7) and/or shade tab (6) information, and then to process the images based on a content-based algorithm for automatic shade matching between the target tooth (7) and the shade tabs (6) for each of the captured images, so as to achieve an optimal dental prosthesis.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The color of a measurement object, such as a vital tooth, and the color of a comparison object to be compared with the measurement object are displayed to a user in an easily comparable manner. The invention provides an image combining apparatus including an image extracting unit for extracting an image of a vital tooth (hereinafter referred to as "measurement-object image") from a color image of the vital tooth and extracting an image of a shade guide (hereinafter referred to as "comparison-object image") from a color image of the shade guide, a combining-reference-line setting unit for setting combining reference lines on the measurement-object image and the comparison-object image, a combining unit for combining the measurement-object image and the comparison-object image to form a combined image, and a correction unit for correcting at least one of the measurement-object image and the comparison-object image so as to align their outlines on the combining reference line in the combined image when the outlines are not aligned.
Abstract:
In a method, computer program, and system a dental target, such as a tooth, is located within a digital dental image. A reference object that was placed in the patient's mouth is segmented within a digital dental image to provide a segmented reference. The reference object has a predetermined size dimension. A window is segmented in the dental image at the position of the dental target. The segmented reference defines the relative size and location of the window, prior to the segmenting of the window.
Abstract:
An image processing system which is applicable to, in this case, a dental treatment, and which images, when a patient' (59) denture is to be produced, the dental part of the patient (59) while a plurality of lighting LEDs respectively having different wavelengths are being emitted by an imaging device (1A) to capture image data. The image data is transmitted to a dental filing system (2A) serving as a treating device, where color reproduction data is determined by computing. The color reproduction data is further sent to a dental laboratory (55) over a public telephone line. In the laboratory, a porcelain blending ratio calculation database (56) is searched to obtain denture porcelain blending data that matches the hue of the dental part of the patient (59), whereby a denture very close in color to the patient' (59) teeth is produced.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A system for, and method of, colour matching and/or identifying colour parameters of articles such as teeth, textiles, paints, dyes, car body repairs, picture restoration, metals and gems and for use in the cosmetics industry. The system comprises means for taking a coloured image of an object, means for relaying the coloured image to a place remote from where the image of the object was taken, means for analysing colour values of the image and means for converting the colour values into parameters from which the original colour of the object can be reconstituted or colour parameters may be cross-referenced and/or recorded over time.
Abstract:
Method for measuring the colour of a patient's tooth, e.g. for preparing a dental prosthesis, by which method a measuring probe (1) is placed adjacent the tooth, light being emitting from the probe (1) which after reflection from the surface of the tooth is received by the same probe (1). The measuring probe (1) comprises two light conductor members (2, 3), one for transmitting light and one for receiving light, the first light conductor member (2) being formed of a bundle of light conductors concentrically arranged in relation to the second light conductor member (3). A spectroscopic member (7) communicating with a processor means (8) determines the shade of the tooth in relation to a given colour guide.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for measuring with a Color Measurement System of predetermined specification and evaluating the color of skin, teeth, hair and material substances with a Color Index. The principles of this invention also relate to techniques for using such a Color Measurement System with the Color Index in medical applications such as the detection of chromogenic disease including bilirubin infant jaundice, cosmetics applications and in the evaluation of the color of hair or teeth, and other applications. The Color Index is measured and calculated from the reflectance spectrum of any skin (or teeth, hair or material substance) by a two step process. The first step is the weighting of the visible spectra with a unique set of weighting factors which calculate a sample's reflectance spectrum's contribution to the appearance of four color components independent of the illuminating condition. The second step places the sample's reflectance spectrum's contribution to the appearance of the four color components in opponency to each other and calculates the Color Index providing attributes representative of correlates of lightness-darkness (L, also referred to as lightness), redness-greenness (M) and yellowness-blueness (N).
