Abstract:
A method is disclosed for remote monitoring of a premises, comprising the steps of operatively coupling a geographically remote client to a security system server which is capable of authenticating a user of the remote client, operatively coupling the remote client to a security gateway which is capable of managing the monitoring of the premises, activating a signal at the premises for notifying an occupant at the premises that remote monitoring is occurring, and transferring information between the security gateway and the remote client. The transfer of information between the security gateway and the remote client is controlled by the user of the remote client. The security gateway may be operably coupled to at least one camera at the premises and to at least one audio station at the premises.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention provide a remote electrical tilt unit, a base station, and a method for managing a remote electrical tilt antenna. The method includes: receiving, by the remote electrical tilt unit, permission configuration information sent by a first base station through a group of AISG ports of the remote control unit; configuring management permission of the first base station on the remote electrical tilt unit according to the permission configuration information, where the management permission includes at least control permission and query permission, and control permission on the remote electrical tilt unit can be allocated to only one base station. In this way, multiple base stations jointly manage a remote electrical tilt unit in a remote electrical tilt antenna, and a problem that it is difficult to locate and troubleshoot a fault when configuration of the remote electrical tilt unit is incorrect is resolved.
Abstract:
An apparatus comprising a wireless communication device for enabling the remote control of a medical apparatus. The apparatus includes a remote control enable device comprising a transmitter and one or more switches, actuatable by enable buttons. The buttons allow an operator to close the switch(es), causing the transmitter to send a status signal related to the status (open or closed) of the switch(es), to a receiver configured to communicate said status signal to a control unit. The control unit verifies the signal on a number of criteria. When all required criteria have been met, remote control of the medical apparatus is allowed. In an embodiment the remote control enable device is configured to maintain the power supply to a transmitting chip sufficiently long, upon opening a switch, so that a check can be performed on the correct functioning of the switch after the switch has been opened.
Abstract:
A radio remote control for controlling at least one first vehicle function that is relevant for functional safety, and further vehicle functions not related to functional safety. The remote control generates and wirelessly transmits transmission data to the vehicle for implementing the first vehicle function in response to a user input and a security information, provided upon actuation of a user interface and a security input actuator, respectively, by the user. In the case of a user input that is associated with the first vehicle function, the security information is only used to generate transmission data that causes the first vehicle function to be carried out if the security input actuator was actuated.
Abstract:
Methods and systems are described for controlling an automation and security system. According to at least one embodiment, an apparatus for voice control of an automation and security system includes a processor, a memory in electronic communication with the processor, and instructions stored in the memory. The instructions are executable by the processor to receive input from the user to perform at least one function of the automation and security system, receive confirmation that the user has received an authentication message at an electronic device carried by the user, and initiate the at least one function.
Abstract:
A wearable device is disclosed that, while being worn by a user, may allow a user to authenticate to a second device such as a smartphone without having to enter an unlock code such as a personal identification number. The wearable device may detect when the user removes it. Removal of the wearable device may cause it to be disabled and prevent it from being used to authenticate a subsequent user to the second device until it is re-enabled.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an adjustable bed handheld remote control that may include a handheld housing, a touch sensor on a front face of the handheld housing, a transmitter and the like. The touch sensor may be presented in a slider form and may be adapted to facilitate a user in adjusting a frame position of an adjustable bed. The transmitter may be electrically coupled to a processor and may receive input from the touch sensor, for communication control signals to the adjustable bed in accordance with the input received from the touch sensor.

Abstract:
In embodiments, apparatuses, methods and storage media are described that are associated with remote control of media devices. A remote control and a content player may be configured to facilitate a secured pairing process. The remote control may be configured to send non-secured signals (such as through an IR transmitter) as well as send and receive secured signals (such as via an RF transceiver). The remote control may non-securely broadcast an uncompressed identifier of itself. Then, in response to being turned on or asked to pair, the remote control may send a pairing request to the player that includes a compressed identifier. The player may then identify the remote control based on the compressed identifier and the previously-broadcast uncompressed identifier and the remote control and player may then perform a pairing process without requiring additional action on the part of a user. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.

A method for remote monitoring of a premises. A geographically remote client is operatively coupled to a security system server capable of authenticating a user of the remote client. The remote client is then operably coupled to a security gateway capable of managing the monitoring of the premises, activating a signal at the premises for notifying an occupant at the premises that remote monitoring is occurring, and transferring information between the security gateway and the remote client. The transfer of information between the security gateway and the remote client is controlled by the user of the remote client.
