Abstract:
A two-shot or multi-shot multi-material injection molding process is provided. The process allows dissimilar materials to be injection molded to form a single, injection molded part by creating a structural interlock between the materials to prevent the materials from separating. The structural interlock is formed by forming at least one interlock cavity adjacent to a interfacial surface of a first portion of a molded part molded from a first material, and injecting a second, different material into the mold so that the second material flows into the interlock cavity and fills it. Solidification of the second material in the interlock cavity formed by the first material creates the structural interlock between the two materials.
Abstract:
A child-resistant container including a container body, a lid, and at least one resilient tab is provided. The lid is pivotable about an axis through a hinge joining the lid to the container body to open and close the container. The resilient tab has a proximal portion fixed to the lid, a distal portion projecting from the lid, and at least one abutment on the distal portion. The abutment on the distal portion of the tab is normally biased into engagement with an abutment on the container body when the lid is in its closed position. The distal portion of the tab is displaceable against the bias to disengage the abutment of the tab from the abutment of the container. Displacement of the tab releases the lid so that it can be pivoted about the hinge to open the container.
Abstract:
A child-resistant lift-top container is disclosed. The container includes a vessel, a lift-off inner cap and an outer locking cap. The outer locking cap engages the lift-off inner cap and is rotatable about the inner cap. The vessel includes a generally downwardly-facing abutment that engages an upwardly-facing abutment on the locking cap to lock the container and prevent the lift-off inner cap from opening. The container is opened by rotating the outer locking cap to disengage the abutments, permitting the lift-off inner cap to be lifted to open the container. The outer locking cap includes at least one spring that engages a spring-engaging surface on the vessel as the outer locking cap is rotated to assist in disengaging the abutments and to allow the outer locking cap to return to its closed and locked position.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, the present invention comprises a bottle-shaped container comprising at least three components, wherein the first component is injection molded, composed of a desired shape and comprises at least side walls, an opening at a top and a neck portion that connects the side walls to the top; the ratio of a diameter of the opening to a largest length of the inside wall of the bottle is no greater than .75; wherein the second component is a sleeve that abuts at least a portion of the inside side walls of the bottle, the sleeve comprises side walls and a bottom section, an outside portion of the sleeve is fixed to at least a portion of inside side walls of the bottle by a notch or lip located at an inside portion of the neck; and wherein the third component is a bottom that abuts an outside portion of the bottom section of the sleeve, a portion of each end of bottom is fixed to a portion of an undercut of a bottom of the bottle side walls.
Abstract:
A solid dosage dispenser insert (10) has been developed that can be attached to a standard drug vial (30) to dispense a predetermined amount of tablets. The insert (10) can be designed to dispense one or more tablets at a time. The insert (10) can be attached to a vial (30) and a cap (34) to form a vial (30), insert (10) and cap assembly (34).
Abstract:
A method of inhibiting an ethylene response in flowers, fruits, vegetables and plants comprising the steps of applying to the plant an effective amount of an ethylene response inhibitor releasing composition comprising: a thermoplastic base, a filler, an ethylene response inhibitor releasing material and a moisture transmitting material that concentrates moisture at the ethylene response inhibitor releasing material, and activating the composition at humidity of at least about 80% Rh at 5C.
Abstract:
Abstract:
