Abstract: The present invention relates to a whitening composition and more specifically, to a whitening composition comprising trolox. The composition of the present invention has an outstanding whitening effect by inhibiting or suppressing a generation of melanin by inhibiting activation of tyrosinase. In addition, the composition is harmless since it does not contain any cytotoxic component while having the whitening effect. The present invention has its significance in discovering a synergy effect of using vitamin C and trolox in combination.
