Abstract: There is provided an information storage apparatus including a recording medium and a head. The recording medium (50) has an electrode layer (57), a magnetic layer (55) that is stacked on the electrode layer, and a wear-resistant thin film (53) that is stacked on the magnetic layer. The head (60) has a conductive probe (51) for injecting charge to record information and sensing the charge injected into the recording medium to reproduce information in a state that the conductive probe contacts the recording medium. A magnetic medium, which is coated with a wear-resistant thin film, stores charges to record information and reproduce information using an electrostatic force. Thus, it is possible to stably store highly integrated information. Also, a probe contacts a recording medium to record and reproduce information at a high speed. Thus, sensitivity and resolution can be improved.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for playing information using capacitance change are provided to reproduce information by sensing increase and decrease in capacitance from electrostatic force, thereby simplifying a structure of the apparatus and reducing the manufacturing cost. CONSTITUTION: A tip supported by a free end of a conductive cantilever is contacted to a predetermined position of a recording medium(S10). Electrostatic force is generated by applying voltage to the tip and the recording medium(S20). The electrostatic force is measured by an electrostatic force measuring unit(S30). Capacitance of the recording medium at the predetermined position is decided from the measured electrostatic force(S40). Based on the volume of the decided capacitance, information recorded on the recording medium is reproduced(S50).

Abstract: PURPOSE: An information storage device using charges is provided to use the existing magnetic medium as a recording medium without improving or deforming the magnetic medium. CONSTITUTION: An information storage device using charges includes a recording medium(50) and a head. The recording medium is composed of an electrode layer(57), a magnetic film(55) deposited on the electrode layer, and an abrasion-resistant thin film(53) formed on the surface of the magnetic film. The head has a conductive probe(51) that injects charges into the recording medium to record information while coming into contact with the recording medium and senses charges injected into the recording medium to reproduce information.
