    Abstract: The silicon-contg. heterocyclic compound of formula (I) is produced by reacting an organic chloride cpd. of formula (II) having two chloromethyl gps. with a silicon in the presence of 5-15 wt.% copper as a catalyst, 0.1-2.0 wt.% cadmium, lead, zinc, silver, manganese, magnesium or chromium as a promotor at 240-370 deg.C in the fluidized or stirred tank reactor. In the formulas, R is -CH2-CH2-, (a) or (b). The compound 9I) is used as a starting material in the manufacture of silicon polymers.
