    Abstract: PURPOSE: A composition for the adhesion of cellulose, a method for preparing a medical cotton pad and a medical cotton pad prepared by the method are provided, to improve the water and blood absorptive power by maximizing the crosslinking efficiency. CONSTITUTION: The composition comprises 0.5-1.5 wt% of a poly(acrylic acid)-based resin; 0.4-0.9 wt% of liquid ammonia (28%); 0.01-0.06 wt% of chitosan; 0.6-1.7 wt% of acetic acid; and water. Preferably the poly(acrylic acid)-based resin is a poly(acrylic acid-co-maleic anhydride) copolymer. The method comprises the steps of soaking 1 parts by weight of cotton into 3-8 parts by weight of the composition; placing the soaked cellulose cotton on a polished stainless plate and compressing the cotton by using a rubber roller with a pressure of 0.5-2 kgf/cm¬2 3-10 times for 3-40 sec; and drying it with a hot wind of 40-80 deg.C for 0.5-6 hours.

The process of preparing the filler comprises the steps of dissolving quaternary ammonium bentonite organic composite as a gelling agent in mineral oil, mixing a styrene-ethylenebutylene-styrene block copolymer, an adhesion giving resin, an antioxidant, a flame retardant and surfactant with the mixture, heating the mixture at 170 to 190 deg.C and removing a foam and molding.
