Abstract: Cpds (I): in which D=phenyl, opt. substd by 1-4C alkyl, -OMe, OEt, phenylazo or phenylazo substd by 1-4C alkyl, OMe, -OEt and R3=4-21C alkyl, opt. interrupted by O, phenyl-1-4C-alkyl, 6-8C cycloalkyl or phenyl possibly substd by 1-4C alkyl, are oils, waxy substances or powders of red colour and are prepd by diazotisation of D-NH2 and coupling with: pref in heavy aromatic hydrocarbon Cpds (I) are easily dissolved in aliphatic, or aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons, esters, alcohols paints, waxes, fats and esp in hydrocarbon fuels and generally possess good stability e.g. no crystallisation or flocculation at -20 to +50 degrees C.

Prepared by reacting the dyestuff component with the alcohol component.
