Abstract: The method involves producing an optical component (10) having a transparent assembly of cells (15) juxtaposed in parallel at a surface of the component. Each cell is hermetically closed. The component is cut along a defined contour on its surface related to a determined shape for a transparent optical unit. The component is drilled for fixing the optical unit on a maintenance support such as a frame. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) an optical component (B) an ocular glass produced by cutting an optical component.

Abstract: To measure automatically a distance related to the interpupillary distance of a person, a light source generates a corneal reflection on at least one eye of the person. By means of a scanning system such as a rotating mirror, a sensor receiver is scanned transversely to the general direction of observation of the person to direct light rays from the corneal reflection or reflections onto the sensor receiver in which is a measurement reference mark relative to which the corneal reflection or reflections is or are located.
