Abstract: A material laminate (1) with a planar dimension and a thickness direction perpendicular to the planar dimension, comprises a first liquid-permeable fibrous material layer (2) and a second liquid-permeable, porous and resilient material layer (3), with at least one of the material layers (2, 3) including thermoplastic material and the two material layers (2, 3) being mutually connected by the material laminate (1) exhibiting bonding sites (4) within which the thermoplastic material has been caused to at least partially soften or melt and thereby bond together the two material layers (2, 3). The bonding areas are arranged in two or more groups (5) with at least two bonding sites (4) in each group (5), with the greatest relative distance between two bonding sites (4), which are situated adjacent to each other, in a particular group (5) being less than the shortest distance between the group (5) and its closest adjacent group (5), as a result of which the material laminate (1) exhibits bond-free areas (6) between the bonding sites (4) within each bonding group (5) which have a higher density than bond-free areas (9) of the material laminate which are situated between the bonding groups (5). The laminate may be used as an outer layer on absorbent products such as nappies, panty nappies, incontinence shields, sanitary towels or bandages.

Abstract: Absorbent pants having a waist opening, two leg openings, and a waterproof outer barrier layer, which is arranged outside the pants layer. The pants layer has a surface area which is greater than that of the outer barrier layer and is joined in parts with itself or includes a device for enabling it to be joined in parts with itself, so that during use of the pants it alone constitutes the waist opening and the leg openings of the pants, and that the load-bearing parts of the pants and all of the parts lying against the body of the user are formed only from the pants layer. An absorbent article where the absolute value of the product 2.gamma. cos.theta.m/r for at least one liquid barrier on each side of the centre line of the absorbent body or for at least one sealing barrier lies above the line y=kx+m, where x designates the available elongation, k has the value -14/30 and m has the value 48 within the major part of an available elongation range of between 20 and 40 %.

Abstract: In a method and device for applying a thread to a moving substrate, a thread is continuously dispensed to a pick-up point adjacent to the point of contact of two rotating wheels (2, 3) that are inclined towards each other. The peripheries of the wheels have fingers (7) which hook the thread and move it to one side or the other as the wheels rotate, and then deposit the thread extended between the fingers 180° from the pick-up point. Long spaces between the fingers (7) on one wheel or the other make it possible to lay the thread longitudinally (8b) or in a long diagonal line instead of merely in a lateral zigzag pattern. The method and device may be used to make an absorbent article, such as a diaper.

Se colocan medios de retención en ambos lados de la posición de rollo casi acabado para soportar el medio de eje insertado en cada extremo de un rollo, en donde los medios de retención están colocados para la liberación simultánea del medio de eje cuando se abre el despachador.
