SOLUTION: Each material of an organic layer is formed in a pellet 25, the pellet 25 is housed in a holder 21, the holder 21 in which the pellet 25 of each material is housed is arranged on a crucible 23 placed within a vacuum chamber 20, the pellet 25 is supplied to the crucible 23 by spontaneous drop caused by gravity of the pellet 25, each pellet 25 is vaporized and deposited on an ITO substrate 24 carried on each crucible 23, and the organic layer is formed.

SOLUTION: A compound expressed by formula I is used as a distyryl compound contained in an organic layer. In formula I, R1, R2, R3 and R4 are mutually the same or different groups, and are an aryl group expressed by formula II. Here, in formula II, R13, R14, R15, R16 and R17 are mutually the same or different groups, and area hydrogen atom or at least one of them is a saturated or unsaturated alkoxyl group, an alkyl group, an amino group or an alkyl amino group. The alkyl group is desirably a methyl group and a t-butyl group. In formula I, R5, R6, R7, R8, R9, R10, R11 and R12 are mutually the same or different groups, and at least one of them is a cyano group, a nitro group or a halogen atom.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an optical recording medium applicable to various recorder/ reproducer employing a low reflectance medium with no limitation on the wavelength of reproduced light by employing a film of titanic polymer having a specified structure in a reflective layer. CONSTITUTION:A reflective layer 3 is formed on a substrate 1 on which pit parts 2a, corresponding to information signals, guide grooves, and address code pits are formed along with land parts 2b. Information is read out by detecting the difference in the quantities of light reflected from the pit part 2a and the land part 2b when the reflective layer 3 is irradiated with a laser light L from the substrate 1 side. The reflective layer 3 is formed of a film of titanic polymer material represented by a general formula shown in the drawing. The optical recording medium constantly exhibits a reflectance in the range of 15-25% having low wavelength dependency for the wavelength in the range of 400-900nm. This optical recording medium can be applied to various recorder/ reproducer employing a low reflectance medium being limited by the wavelength of reproduced light.
